Do you want to work abroad?

After entering college and taking board examinations, employment is the next
phase that we will be entering. Since poverty is rampant in the Philippines, one of the
salient elements we look forward in employment is to have high salary so that we can
sustain the essential needs of our everyday lives. But unfortunately, the income that
some professionals earned is not enough to sustain their needs to their families. Sadly,
this is brought by the wobbling economic condition and political situation in our country.
This opted many Filipinos to choose working abroad to escape these kind of scenarios.
There is nothing wrong in working here locally but if I were to ask about working
abroad, it is absolutely yes. I really want to work abroad because of the high salary that
we can get. As workers, we all want to earn big money to sustain our needs and to buy
whatever we want. We cannot deny the fact that the prevailing salary structure in our
country is one of the lowest in the region.
I also want to be given an opportunity to work abroad because of the economic
status and political situation that our country is facing. Given the fact that the
government is not able to provide the basic needs to the majority of the population and
the low rate of economic development, this opted some Filipinos chose to work abroad.
As for political situation, some teachers, especially who were teaching in public schools
can no longer deal with the system such as irrelevant paper works which are not related
to their lesson plans and the status of their students’ grades, passing the failed students
out for pity because of the “zero dropout” policy being implemented, among others.
These things defeat the purpose of quality education which is no longer practiced here
because of the corrupt practices.
Aside from the high salary and better opportunities that I can get in working
abroad, I can also travel at the same time. Traveling is also a way of learning where I
can learn culture and traditions of the people living there. I can also learn the
geographic and history of the place I am working with.
At the end, we must think wisely before we decide. If we are ready of working
abroad, grab the opportunity. If we are not ready yet, there is a perfect time for you to
grab the opportunity of working abroad.
