This chart has been chosen because in my view any discussion on the significance of the
Lunar Nodes would be incomplete without an analysis of this contemporary figure. His
life perfectly embodied what the nodes are all about. He was a revolutionary not in the
physical but more mental sense of the word. He produced poetry and music in the same
years as Jimi Hendrix during the times of musicopolitical social revolution of the late
sixties and died at the same age (28y).

'Jim', has the mystical and prophetic sign of Scorpio rising in the Ascendant. When he
was just four years old a strange incident took place which he later recalled as the most
important event of his life - He, his parents and his grandparents were driving through the
desert in New Mexico USA when they came across a fresh accident scene. The accident
involved Native American Indians whose bodies and blood was scattered all over.
According to his account he could see the souls of some of those dead Indians just
hanging around and a few of them jumped straight into his soul. In his own words,"
Indians scattered on the dawn's highway bleeding, ghosts crowd the young child's fragile
eggshell mind".

This incident in astrological terms is surely the result of the presence of Ketu in his third
house, the house of travel and childhood (till around 5 years). The fact that his
grandparents (representing his nodes) were present when this incident took place leaves
no doubt as to what forces were behind it.

Since his Ketu is placed in the earthy, concrete sign of Capricorn the journey was taking
place by road and the incident had a permanent affect on his psyche. In many individuals
with this placement some sort of psychic and otherworldly encounter takes place in the
early childhood that may or may not have lasting effects.

In his case he voiced the sentiments of the Native American Indians through his songs. In
my view, there was no bitterer critic of the American State, the way it was formed, the
way it was run and the way it was heading than Jim Morrison. He proclaimed when he
got famous that his parents were dead -a statement very typical of the nodes who like to
block out the father (Sun) and the mother (Moon) planets, which in a sense meant that he
was a free individual having cut himself off from his roots. Also he was rebelling against
the very establishment which his parents were a part of ; his father was a Rear Admiral in
US Navy signified by his tenth lord Sun in the watery sign of Scorpio. This position of
Sun was also responsible for providing him with a towering outer personality.

The sign dispositor of Ketu, Saturn is placed in the eighth house intensifying the basic
psychic quality of the chart. This also caters for the fixation he had on death. He was
always trying to overcome the fear of death (Saturn) by going to the extremes. In light of
that it is no wonder his actions seemed suicidal to most. But in this quest he also gained
cosmic knowledge and wisdom springing from the Universal consciousness.

He was known to make repeated trips to the desert (another Ketu signification) in order to
meditate. This exemplifies why Ketu is considered the key to liberation from the cycle of
time. In his own words -"cancel my subscription to the resurrection".

Most of his planets are placed in the constellations ruled by the nodes boosting the
significance of the nodes. Sage Parasara's opinion that Ketu is the co-ruler of Scorpio and
Rahu of Aquarius seems to hold true for his chart. His inner personality governed by the
Ascendant was very much influenced by Ketu; it revealed itself as he proclaimed himself
the Lizard King. A lot of his songs are full of reptilian imageries (especially snakes). His
clothing (mostly leather) and public image (shaman) governed by the fourth house clearly
shows the influence of Rahu.

The Aquarian part of his nature which was so very important for making an impression
on the masses in those days was also brought out by Rahu. The aspect of Jupiter on the
sign Aquarius added a benefic quality to his actions. His second house, the house of
poetry and singing combine's influences received from Mars, Saturn and Jupiter by
aspect.

Interestingly his Mercury and Saturn are placed in exactly similar positions as the chart of
Nostradamus, providing a prophetic touch to his writings. His singing quite often turned
into oratory (third house) and that's when the nodal axis took over the proceedings; to
hear his songs is like listening to the nodes! Nodes are the forces, which as I said before
represent the cycle of time and thus can, provide insight into the past as well as future.

Mercury in the second aspected by Jupiter is a good combination for writing poetry. The
presence of second lord Jupiter in the tenth helped turn his interest in poetry into his
vocation. The presence of Mars as the dispositor of the Sun, Moon and Ascendant in the
seventh house shows his Martian tendencies causing trouble in his relationships. Public
recognition came in his 24th year, which is governed by Moon according to Vedic
astrology. Moon, the ninth lord is also the karmic distribution control planet being the
dispositor of Rahu. The major period of Sun was in operation.
The placement of Pluto along with Rahu, Uranus along with Mars and Neptune along
with Saturn allowed him to become a vehicle for the collective. Venus in the twelfth in its
own sign is responsible for his Dionysian tendencies.

Like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison was dead before his 28th birthday. There is alot of
controversy surrounding his death in Paris. We can see that in his chart Venus is placed
in the 12th house in Vishakha (which as we mentioned in the Jimi Hendrix article is one
of the three constellations representing the dark forces at work on earth at present). We
know that 12th house represents foreign lands and bed partners. It is interesting to note
that the only person present at the time of his death was his girlfriend (as is the case with
Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Lee). His girlfriend was a heroin addict who herself died in
mysterious circumstances a couple of years after his death.

It is very clear that the same forces which were behind the death of Jimi Hendrix and
Bruce Lee were behind his untimely death. The most obvious question which rises up is
why? The answer is quite simple. All three of them were rebels to the existing sinister
system and were trying to get the message across in their own unique way to the
masses/public. In other words they were spilling out the secrets - those who don't
understand what is being said here, are advised to take a good look at the works of these
three men (messengers!).
