MIDTERM

1. What is the importance of the human evolution in understanding today’s

culture?
It is considered that humans are not just biological creatures, they are also considered as
social creatures, the most social in earth. Hence, it fits the ecological niche to survive as
living creatures. As we understand the concept of human evolution, we also understand
where are we coming from, especially our cultural background and differences. We
were able to grasp the past and connect it the present cultural affiliations we have
today.

2. Using universal patterns, what are the influences bought by the different
cultures of neighbouring countries.
The influence brought by the different cultures of neighbouring countries brought way
to what we called now, “human condition”. And these upbringing and confluence of
culture paved way for evolutionary adaptations. This is also one of the reasons why we
have this cultural sensitivity and adaptation even we came from different culture,

3. How does the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs help the learning strategy/ies of
every classroom teachers?
We all know that learners have different goals, needs, and preferences, and they are
motivated of what they need. It is in this sense, certain aspects of motivation must be
considered in designing learning strategies and help them achieve that level of needs.
During the teaching and learning process, learners must be empowered and inspired so
they can develop self-awareness at their own pace.
FINAL
1. In today’s trying times, which trait from our ancestor should we adapt to cope up
with the challenges we are facing right now?
Cooperation is the key. In the ancient times, our ancestors already began working
together to gather food. An individual can get what he needs on her own, especially
there is no scarcity of food. However, in a marginal condition, a cooperative group can
do a better job than individuals in exploiting the resources that we have.

2. What is the underlying relationship between the field of education and

Psychology?
We all know that Psychology is the study of human behaviour and education is the
modification of behaviour in a desirable direction or controlled environment. The duty of
education is to guide the child according to the psychological norms. Also, we know that
most of the educational philosophies that we have are anchored on the psychological
foundations of human being,
3. If an educational system has serious crisis, what should be reformed and at
which level?
I believe on the bottom-up approach in dealing with the educational crisis. The
reformation must begin with the root level (classroom level) so that policy making body
can come up with solutions based on the prevailing needs in the classroom. We all know
that most of the crisis in the educational system can be found in every classroom from
lack of classroom, books, students’ behaviour, etc.
