June Quarter 2011
The geology of the Chilalo 4 geologists, 1
license is poorly understood. geophysicist, 5
However, the presence of technicians, 2
ultramafic rock in both drill holes security, 2
and in outcrop, elevated Ni in support staff, 1 $102,852
soils, malchite shows and contractor,
numerous untested airborne EM casual
anomalies make this area labourers (15-
favorable for the discovery of 25)
base metal mineralization. This
area would benefit from ongoing
interpretation and ground
geophysics and additional
geochemistry to identify target
areas for further work.
Geochemical sampling and Six soil grids were designed for 1123 Potential for Ni-Cu mineralization.
geology mapping: geochemical soil samples in the June
quarter. To the end of June quarter 353
soil samples were collected from five of
the six grids. 237 samples (including 5
duplicates) were collected from three E-
W oriented grids with 100-200m spaced
lines and 50m sample intervals. These
three grids are located at the north
central part of the license. 124 soil
samples (including 3 duplicates) were
collected from two N-S soil grids located
at the NE part of the tenement with their
lines located 50-100m apart and 50m
sample centers. The purpose of the
sampling was to test for the geochem
response of the elevated Ni and Ag in
2009 CNI soils up to 172 ppm Ni, 460
ppb Ag and 35 ppb Au; high Zn and Cu
in 2010 CNI soils up to 199 ppm Ni, 446
ppm Zn; two Zn-Cu gossans which
returned 1236 ppm Cu, 845 ppm Zn &
2095 ppm Cu and 2555 ppm Zn and Zn-
Ag in 1998 BHP stream samples.
However, the sampling aimed also at
testing the geochemical response of the
2008 VTEM geophysical anomalies and
the malachite showing in the
Nangurugai Village.
