1. If sociology cannot be a science of society, then what? Is there a better alternative for
understanding society?

I don’t think there is a better way of understanding society. Because it is difficult to understand
how a society behaves, a human being’s social interaction and relation. Sociology is capable of
studying this kind of behavior in a society so it is suited to be the science of society.

2. If all perspectives are biased to some extent, and if science is a perspective, what is its bias? What
limits science in its attempt to understand reality? What does it ignore? What are its assumptions?

Science is biased with their theory; they do not accept non-scientific reasons. Sometimes other
viewpoints are not treated neutrally because science has already favored a scientific opinion. The
scientific method is limited by that which can be tested, reproduced, and falsified.

3. If we cannot be certain about our truths, then why seek truth? Isn’t it better to leave it alone?

It is still better to seek for the truth so we will not remain ignorant about the things that happen in
our world. To not limit ourselves with beliefs, to question what we already know and what we
see.

4. How would a physicist or chemist answer the question: How do sociologists study society?

I think they would answer it with sociologist’s studies society by observing how human beings
present themselves to others. By observing how human beings interact with a group of people and
individually.

1. If sociology cannot be a science of society, then what? Is there a better alternative for
understanding society?

For me there is no alternative for understanding society, sociology is capable of understanding

society because of its observation methods and ways of understanding behavior of society.

2. If all perspectives are biased to some extent, and if science is a perspective, what is its bias? What
limits science in its attempt to understand reality? What does it ignore? What are its assumptions?

Science is biased with their theory; they do not accept non-scientific reasons. Sometimes other

scientific method is limited by that which can be tested, reproduced, and falsified.

3. If we cannot be certain about our truths, then why seek truth? Isn’t it better to leave it alone?

For me it is better to seek the truth, to keep us from being ignorant and believing things that are
not real. If we don’t seek the truth we will remain believing on beliefs or unproven information.

4. How would a physicist or chemist answer the question: How do sociologists study society?

They would probably answer sociologist studies society according to how they interact with
every individual.
