Art Event Proposal

Project Summary

           The purpose of this proposal is to provide an outline of an art event for my workplace.

The content in this proposal is aimed at enticing the audience to consider attending the show.

The content in the proposal will include the event, location, artists involved, the budget at the

rationale for how the company will profit from the art event. In addition, there will be a lot of

giveaways to make the customers feel appreciated and to always consider our events in the

future.

Event

Event Name and Background.

The art event will be a ballet theatrical performance by the American Ballet Theatre

titled, the storybook ballet, which will be held at Dolby Theatre. The American Ballet is one

of the biggest ballet organizations with the largest amount of ballet stars in America. During

the event, the group will be depicting the sad love narrative of two lovers and their effort to

break a curse that converts them into swans during the day. The ballet will be performed for

two hours, and this is inclusive of intermission.

Location

The event will take place at the American Ballet Theatre in New York city on July

31st, 2020. The American Ballet theatre founded in 1939, is considered one of the greatest in

the world. The theatre is expected to hold more than five hundred people. The seats will be

arranged based on the ticket purchased and the price of the ticket will be dependent on where

one will choose to seat on this particular day.

Artists

The audience will be entertained by renowned ballet dancers whose fame intensified

in the 20th century. The names of the artists are as follows:

 Mikhail Baryshnikov: He is a renowned ballet dancer who is famously known for

his work in Vestra, Giselle, Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Apollo, The Turning point, and

White Nights. He is a Russian-American dancer who is famously known for his

choreography in these pieces and is also considered to be the best ballet dancer in the

20th century (Biography.com editors, 2020). Baryshnikov will be performing three of

his work on the White Nights, Apollo, and Vestra in the three consecutive days.

 Misty Copeland: She is the first African American ballerina to become a lead dancer

in the American Ballet Theatre in 2015. Some of her famous work include: The

Firebird, Gulnare in Le Corsaire, Swanilda in Coppélia and Odette/Odile, in  Swan

Lake (Blumberg, 2020). Copeland will be performing The Firebird, Swanilda in

Coppélia  and Odette/Odile, in Swan Lake.

 Alina Cojocaru: She is famously known for her classic and contemporary ballet

dances (Saunders, 2020). We shall be in for a treat as she performs a repeat of her

classic and contemporary dance Marguerite and Armand.

 Polina Semionova: She is a classical Ballerina who will be performing three of her

pieces that include: Princess Aurora- Sleeping Beauty, Kitri-Don Quixote and Marie-

The Nutcracker.

Rational

Art is used in depicting the beauty of life. To do this, in this event, the ballet dancers

must have complete trust with one another to execute some of their moves. In most ballet

performances, the actors and the actress always move hand in hand, and they must have

complete trust with one another to hold and catch one another when required. Such acts are a

lesson to the audience of the importance of keeping promises and maintaining trust with

loved ones. It also shows the resilience each of the artist have and their unique styles to

express their resilience. The event is purposed to bring the workplace team together and

provide a relaxation mood after a long year of hard work at the office.

Budget Requirements

The event will take place on three consecutive days, that is from Friday to Sunday.

Tickets will be charged from $40 to $150 depending on the position of one seat. Groups and

offices will receive a 2% discount on tickets. However, each group must have a minimum of

seven people to get the discount. In addition, a 1% discount will be offered to groups that pay

for the VIP tickets only. There will also be free popcorn and free snacks at the entrance to

welcome the audience. Therefore, a total budget of $500 dollars will be included to cater for

the popcorns and the snacks. However, any second purchase of the same will require payment

of $20 for each purchase made. In addition, transport will be provided for those who will not

be driving at a minimal charge of $250 for the three days and there will be situated tour vans

and buses at different pick up points in New York. Lunch and drinks will also be served at a

cost of $100 per plate. Each team member will be awarded a voucher for accommodation at a

standard price of $500 per person.
