Reflection
Students will copy two dictation sentences off the board, and write five power words. Dictation sentence would be. The dog ran.
The car is blue. Power words are red, blue, is, the, ran. Students can see their own progress by comparing their work to what’s on
the board. At the end of the lesson I will ask students a follow-up question and ask them why they think it is important to write.
Why do they think it’s important to learn the alphabet? Students will have a journal at the end of the lesson and can keep track of
their writing progress in their daily journal.
The significance of engaging students in achieving their educational “Engagement is the secret key to learning. When students
actively engage or participate to pursue knowledge, they are actually preparing themselves a better life ahead.” (Tom Dewing,
Raccoon) Students who engaged in the education they take it seriously. They become motivated to receive good grades and praises
from educators and families. Methods I can use to engage students learning is tapping into student’s prior knowledge, learn
student’s interest, organize classrooms, design relevant learning activities, integrate modern technology, foster competition among
students and provide positive, timely, and regular feedback of students’ progress. (Raccoon)
Formative and summative assessments support the desired learning outcomes to achieve long-term goals and drive modifications in
instruction to meet student needs by providing students with test, quizzes, projects, exams, presentations and essays, throughout the course.
Formative assessments evaluates students learning throughout a course. Summative assessments evaluates how much students has
learned throughout the course. These assessments help keep track of students’ progress. This demonstrate what students have
improved on, what they have learned, and what they need extended help on.
Assessments help to develop appropriate differentiation based on students learning needs by helping to design lessons based on
students learning styles, assess students learning using formative assessments, manage the classroom to create a safe and
supportive environment, and continually assessing and adjusting lesson content to meet the needs of students.
It is important to consider input from students, colleagues, families, and communities because they all should work together to
promote health, well-being, and learning. Student become more confident when they have a support system from the people in
their life. Family and communities foster partnerships with schools families and communities. When everyone is involve the
student adapts well in school, complete homework, earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, improve behavior,
and high self-esteem. (New Hampshire Education)
