Notice!

There may be several reasons for irregular engine operation and it is often logged as a consequential fault.

In the "basic check" run, information from the fault memory is evaluated initially. Next, a leakage test of the solenoid val
ve injectors is carried out. If further processes are necessary, this is indicated in the test module. If necessary, further fa
ult causes are dealt with in the second run "additional check". (including extensive tests)

In the special procedure "clean spark plugs", the spark plugs are cleaned at a higher load and speed.

The special procedure is required:

• after a part exchange for the additional cleaning of the spark plug, in accordance with the instructions in the basic che
ck.
• In case of contaminated spark plugs due to short-distance driving or poor fuel quality.

Solenoid valve injector leakage test

Check procedure:

1. Engine must be started on request to build up pressure rail in the rail.


2. When sufficient pressure has built up, a corresponding display appears.
3. The engine must then be stopped immediately to minimise the operating time. (The engine should heat as little as po
ssible)
4. The pressure change in the rail is automatically recorded and evaluated over a defined period.
5. The result is shown.

If the pressure in the rail drops too quickly, it is an indication of leaky solenoid valve injectors.

However, other fault causes may also be present.
