Subject: Scheme for allotment of Roll No.

It is brought to the notice of Principals of all the Institutions affiliated with

HSBTE that the scheme for allotment of roll no. to the students will be followed as
mentioned below:
1. Scheme for allotment of Roll Nos. for the admitted
students except admitted through LEET and in
Part-Time Diploma.

A) For 2008 & 2009 Batch Students:

There will be no change in the 10 digit roll no. scheme
being already followed for the students admitted in 2008
& 2009.

(i) The last 3 digits of the roll no.

representing alphabetical serial no. of
the students admitted in MORNING
SHIFT, will start from 001 onwards as
per the following Example:

(ii) The last 3 digits of the roll no. for the

students admitted in EVENING SHIFT,
will start from 501 onwards as per the

B) From 2010 Batch & Onward.
The scheme for allotment of roll no. to the students
admitted in 2010 and onwards will be of 11 digits.
First two digits will represent the year of admission,
next three digits will represent the Institute/ Polytechnic
code, the next two digits will represent the branch code,
the next four digits will represent the alphabetical sr. no.
of student admitted as shown in the following examples.

(i) The last 4 digits of the roll no. representing

alphabetical serial no. of student admitted in
MORNING SHIFT, will start from 0001 onwards as
per the following Example:

2. Scheme of allotment of Roll No. for the Students

admitted through Lateral Entry.

A) For 2008 & 2009 Batch Students:

There will be no change in the 10 digit roll no. scheme
being already followed for the students admitted in 2008
& 2009.

(i) The last 2 digits of the roll no.

representing merit wise serial no. of
the students admitted in MORNING
SHIFT, will start from 01 onwards as
per the following Example:

The scheme for allotment of roll no.’s to the students
admitted in 2010 and onwards will be of 11 digits.
First two digits will represent the batch/ class with
which the students admitted through LEET will study, the
next three digits will represent the Institute/ Polytechnic
code, the next two digits will represent the branch code,
the next two digit will represent the year of admission
and the last two digits will represent the merit wise serial
no. of the student admitted as shown in the following
examples.

(i) The last 2 digits of the roll no. representing merit

wise serial no. of student admitted in MORNING
SHIFT will start from 01 onwards as per the
following Example:

admitted in 2010 and onwards will be of 11 digits.

(i) The last 2 digits of the roll no. representing merit

wise serial no. of student admitted in MORNING
SHIFT, will start from 01 onwards as per the
following Example:
