Dear Jesus, today I will have my examinations.

You know how important they are to me.
So I am humbly asking Your gracious help and divine assistance,
I pray to You, my dear Jesus, please never let me panic nor get nervous,
Just let me be at ease and give my very best.
Please never let me guess nor rely on pure luck,
But enlighten my mind and let me think clearly.
Please never let me resort to chance nor to dishonesty,
But let me work to the fullest of my ability
I pray for your guidance that I think,
I may find the right solutions,
I may be able to correctly answer the questions,
I may solve those difficult problems.
I ask, O Mama Mary, Your intercession, that as I write,
I may not be careless nor overconfident,
I may not be distracted but be more concentrated,
I may not be in a hurry nor take the exams too lightly.
Today, O my Jesus, I will take my examinations,
Let me, with your help, give my best effort
Let me, because of You, receive the best fruitful results.

PRAYER AFTER EXAMS

Thank you, Lord, for enlightening my mind during the examination.

When I was handed the exam sheets, I was shaking, I did not know what to write.
But then you gave me the light I needed to remember what at first I thought I did not know.
I give you infinite thanks.
Thank you, Lord! I do not deserve this peace of mind; but all the same.
Thank you for letting me know the answers, for letting me do well. Amen.

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO

To be prayed before the examination, maybe inside the room while waiting for the test to
start.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your
examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (here
mention the name of examination). In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be
invoked.
O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me
O Holy Ghost enlighten me
Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me
Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.
MEMORARE
I constantly prayed this during the actual examination when I was having a hard time in
answering the questions.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

That never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
Implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
Despise not my petitions
But in your mercy hear and answer me.

STUDENT'S PRAYER
I prayed this in the morning, before the review starts. Also, I bought this pocket prayer
booklet at St. Clare Monastery in Cabuyao, Laguna.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for this opportunity to study which others may not have. Help me to
give my best in whatever I do. Give me the grace to manage my time well - to balance "study
and play." Help me set aside and to have focus especially during exams. Do not let me fall into
the temptation of cheating and making "shortcuts" in order to attain my goals. Instead, let me
accept the fact of life that nothing of worth comes easy. Let me value the knowledge and
wisdom imparted to us by our teachers and to appreciate their efforts and concern. Teach me
to learn the lessons of life itself that I may live not only for myself but for others. Amen.

STUDENT'S PRAYER (ST. THOMAS AQUINAS)

We were given a copy of this prayer from our review school.

O Lord, true Source of Light and Wisdom, give me a clear sense of understanding, a retentive
memory, and the capacity to grasp things correctly. Grant me the grace to be accurate in my
expositions, and the skill to express myself with thoroughness and clarity. Be with me at the
start of my work, guide its progress, and bring it to conclusion. Grant this, through Christ our
Lord. Amen. St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.
PRAYER TO INVOKE THE HOLY SPIRIT
I prayed this so many times during the actual board examination to help me keep calm. It was
also recommended by one of our reviewers.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send
forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created. And Thou shall renew the face of the earth.
Let Us Pray
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit has taught the hearts of the faithful, grant us by the
help of the same Holy Spirit to be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation, through Christ
Our Lord. Amen.

EL SHADDAI PRAYER
(Prayed daily at 6pm)

1. Siyang naghahangad ng pagkupkop ng kataas-taasan. At nananatili sa kalinga mong

makapangyarihan.
2. Makapagsasabi sa kanyang Panginoon: "Muog ka't tahanan, Ikaw ang aking Diyos, and Diyos na
tangi kong pinagtitiwalaan.
3. Ikaw ay ililigtas Niya sa panganib, sa umang na bitag. At kahit ano mang mabigat na salot di
ka magdaranas.
4. Lulukuban Niya sa lilim ng kanyang malabay na pakpak, sa kalinga Niya ay natitiyak mo na
ikaw ay ligtas; Iingatan Niya't ipagsasanggalang, pagkat siya'y tapat.
5. Pagsapit ng gabi, di ka matatakot sa anumang bagay. Maging sa gagawing biglaang paglusob
pagsapit ng araw.
6. Ni sa ano pa mang darating na saot pagkagat ng dilim, di ka matatakot sa kasamaan mang
araw kung dumating.
7. Kahit na mabuwal sa iyong harapan ang sanlibong tao, sa iyong paligid ang bilang ng patay

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP
I prayed this daily after the El Shaddai prayer.

O Mother of Perpetual Help, with the greatest confidence, we come before You in order to
invoke Your aid. Behold, I cast myself at your feet, and pray to you to obtain for me this graces
I stand so much in need of. Mary, most loving of all mothers, obtain for me from the heart of
Jesus, this grace. Our Mothers of Perpetual Help, you desire our salvation far more than we,
ourselves, Your Son has give you to us. For our mother you have chosen to be called Mother of
Perpetual Help! For the love you bear to Jesus your son and my Redeemer. For the love of my
soul, obtain for me the grace I ask from you. Amen.
