CE/CN/ERS
Sir,
With reference to the above letter the following revisions are carried out
1. Since the number of cable holes are 36 in the initial condition, that is at DL
condition for pre-stressing deduction for holes area is done. That is why the CG is
different for DL condition and SDL condition. In the present document the CG’s
are correctly applied for DL condition and SDL condition. For SDL condition no
deduction in area is considered since grouting is done by the time.
2. Losses are calculated for 7th day stressing so that it is feasible to stress the cable
when the concrete attains the required strength.
3. The permissible compressive stress is taken as 180kg/sq.cm (0.36fck). For
adopting more than 0.36fck value non-linear creep shall be considered in the
design.
4. At jacking location the minimum edge distance from the base is corrected to
220mm.
5. This is corrected to half length of cable between jack faces.
6. The skew angle is 52° for the solid slab. For such an acute skew condition edge
beams are required to counteract sagging condition in the transverse direction of
slab. So edge beams are provided all four sides. Copy of literature is enclosed.
7. Applying influence line concept the maximum moment condition for the moving
load is found out and wheels are kept accordingly. The Wood and Armer equation
is applied to get the moments. Otherwise enormous load cases should be
generated for moving load analysis which makes application of Wood and Armer
equation tedious.
8. Now jacking condition is carried out and results are tabulated in design
document. No change in the reinforcement drawing.
The revised document is submitted here with CD
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
