UNDERSTANDING SOCIETY, CULTURE and POLITICS

Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
1. Human cultural variation, social differences, social change and political
identities.
2. Significance of studying culture, society and politics.

Performance Standard:

III. Procedure:
A. Routine Activities
- Prayer
- Checking of Attendance
- Recapitulation

B. Motivation
- The teacher will show images of culture, society and politics.
- Guided questions:

Based on video clip, what did you observe?


What are the images trying to demonstrate?
What is the significance of pictures shown?
C. The teacher will present the guided questions;
1. What is the significance of understanding one’s culture?
2. What is the importance of understanding one’s society?
3. How politics does affect your life?

D. Activity
1.
The teacher will present an activity using graphic organizer.

The teacher will group the class into three (3) representing each
group a topic namely, society, culture and politics.

Using the graphic organizer and the materials provided by teacher


the learners will brainstorm their ideas for 5 minutes on the topic
given.

Another five (5) minutes will be given to write and prepare their
outputs.

2. Five (5) minutes will be given for each group for reporting of their
output. The criteria are the following:
