BC in the Cloud
BC in the Cloud (BCIC) is headquartered in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and has 50 employees and
75 BCMP customers. The version evaluated runs as a SaaS to customers, and mobile devices and
tablets are also supported. BCIC is priced by user count, and its organization-size sweet spot is
more than 25,000 employees. In 2018, 34% of its customers were from the financial services (not
including insurance) sector. Its crisis management capability has a real-time clock, with impacts
aggregated over time. For customers requiring more-fine-grained recovery planning, recovery plans
can be developed on a function-by-location basis.

Strengths

■ Offering/Product Strategy: BCIC offers a configurable solution that is possible to implement

with little technical or operational support. Custom reporting features enable users to create
dynamic reports and schedule batch exports, as required. BCIC integrates with Google Maps for
geocoding and Aeris for weather information.

■ Pricing/Functionality: BCIC has one of the least complex pricing models — by user count with
no user type differences and unlimited users for most of its features. BCIC has good ease of
customization and high ease-of-use functionality. It has excellent application integration, BIA,
recovery plan management, dashboarding and reporting capabilities.

Cautions

■ Customer Experience and Pricing: BCIC had a lower customer reference satisfaction rating for
professional services and customer service and technical support are serviced out of the U.S.
only. According to customer references, the annual subscription pricing for their BCIC BCMP
implementations is more than twice the Magic Quadrant mean annual subscription pricing.

■ Geographic and Sales Strategy: BCIC uses no partners for sales or implementation; therefore,
implementations outside of the U.S. can be challenging. It also doesn’t partner with professional
consulting services firms for extended BCM program development activities. BCIC runs on AWS
cloud service production and recovery data centers in the U.S. only, which could present a data
privacy issue for non-U.S. prospects.

ClearView
ClearView is headquartered in Oxfordshire, U.K., and has 112 employees working on its BCMP
solution. It is principally offered as an all-inclusive packaged license with all features enabled for
all clients. Price differential is purely based on the size and scale of the client organization.
ClearView provides additional offerings in two market-specific packages: ClearView XE, enabling
smaller organizations (typically with less than 1,000 employees) to build effective BC frameworks
and ClearView GV, which has been specifically designed for the public sector. According to
