TOPIC: IS TECHNOLOGY LIMITING CREATIVITY?

It’s Saturday afternoon, you text your friends to hang out in the evening. As soon as you text
them, you decide to open up Instagram to scroll through your newsfeed. After being bored, you
switch to twitter, realizing it is time to go hangout with your friends. As you go to your friend’s
house, you decide to text them instead of ringing the doorbell. There, you guys decide to play
video games instead of talking to each other. Internet and electronic devices in general is
becoming a compulsion. Today people have anxiety attacks at the thought of slow wireless
connection. If a webpage takes longer than usual to load; we are left with rage and disappointment.
For a moment let us realize that when was the last time we spoke to someone on the bus, in a
waiting line or anywhere in public? ‘Technology’ can be termed as a gift of digital revolution to
mankind. Today, there is revolution in everything. Right from pin to plane, everything has been
revolutionized for the better. Similarly, Technology is revolution which, when used in the right
way, enhances creativity and acts as a hindrance when used vice versa. However, one should
know that it is just a tool which must be used only to help boost creativity and never to hinder it.
Utilizing the best from it and still keeping it at bay is the best solution. Creativity is innate as it
develops right from birth. The degree and type of creativity differs from person to person. The
technology is killing creativity because of lack of originality and widespread copying, it’s killing
the content as dependency has increased and special effects negate human imagination and
creativity.
Despite many websites promoting creativity, where a galore of knowledge is available but the
gadgets have restricted the use of knowledge and creativity, as it has become an open battle
between machines versus man. Biggest tycoons develop not only because of ample knowledge
but a creative mind to use the knowledge and skills in an innovative way. Use of technology
seems as if a robot is placed and it is working through our commands. When a child is given an
assignment, he/she saves time by copy pasting the work without using their creativity and
imagination. The creativity comes from the originality of the work and how it is presented.
Now a days we are fully dependent on technology. We cannot do a simple task by ourselves
without the help of technology. Our forefathers were stronger than us. They worked the whole
day and we cannot do an hour’s work. Technology is good but we should not be dependent on it.
Due to technology, nowadays we are becoming very lazy and boring. We waste our days on
mobile phones and computers than going for a walk. These gadgets have affected our brain and
eyes.
Technology has deadened the creative process through short cuts in production methods which
creates artificial offerings that cannot match the originality of past products. From recycled plots
to fake special effects, the entertainment and mass media industry has undergone a negative
change; thanks to technology. Adding effects to your work and faking it won’t make you more
beautiful than before; you will remain the same. It’s just a moment of satisfaction and people
admire your fake edits.
Don’t stop your brain to think, otherwise it won’t respond even if you force it towards its limits.
Stay healthy and happy, don’t search for entertainment, you are creative enough to identify your
own free time happiness. And, don’t fake yourself! People admire the natural beauty not the fake
personality, show the originality and positivity in your character and people will appreciate you.
Don’t capture the moments, in your gadgets, live them with your loved ones as gadgets will
remain longer but the loved ones will live once a lifetime.
