In Buenavista INHS: 2020 Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela

Shifts Under the New Normal Needs

In place of the usual school clean-up drive activities, this year's Brigada Eskwela of
the Department of Education is focused on information dissemination within communities
near public schools to educate returning and incoming learners under the New Normal set-up
which is a highly commendable program that is being implemented by the DepEd.
In these challenging times, Buenavista INHS believes that learning continuity will
take place through shared responsibility of all the members in the community. Brigada
Eskwela brings out the bayanihan spirit of the people from the community, teachers, learners
and volunteer government and non- government organizations and private companies. BE
goals is to respond to the needs of the school and be part of a nationwide effort towards
improving the basic education. The spirit of working together for a noble cause lifts the
morale of those involved in the BE, particularly the teachers and school administrators. And
BE is proven an effective vehicle to awaken the community people’s bayanihan spirit.
Now, we are putting up a new list of needs for the school rather than the usual
gathering of stakeholders, parents, learners and teachers in the school’s embellishment and
restoration works. Buenavista INHS is now encouraging the community to come up with a
menu of needs wherein their school's stakeholders can check on what a particular school’s
actual necessities for the continuation of classes amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The stakeholders can sponsor or donate facemasks, handwashing facilities right at the
schools' entrance, sanitizers, alcohols, and internet connectivity, personal kits/hygiene,
learning continuity plan materials, school supplies and disinfectants to ensure the safety of
the learners and teachers against infection.
A new concept of the Brigada Eskwela (BE) and Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) was
kicked off last June 15 through a virtual program which included the engagement of
stakeholders, GPTA and SGC officers, municipal officials and barangay officials, parents,
learners and teachers addressing problems, queries, and other concerns in the preparation for
the start of classes. The 2020 Brigada Eskwela under the new normal education was
engrossed on the ground work and consolidation of the partnership engagement with regards
to the implementation of the Basic Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).
On the other hand, the Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) has addressed enrolment-related
problems, queries, and other concerns in such a way that the school administration asked for
the assistance of our barangay officials to help them distribute the enrolment forms and
survey sheets on the learners. BE and OBE campaign and information dissemination was
done thru tarpaulins, leaflets, letters and web tarp on our official BINHS-301232 FB page
which aims to raise awareness and clearly identify the target of the new normal in education.
Lastly, we had the following BE plans and programs like the Gulayan sa Tahanan
with the theme of “Masustansiyang Gulay sa Tahanan,” with the objective to awaken the
consciousness of the learners and parents on the importance of green environment and to
promote sustainable food supply at their homes. We also had our BE Mental Health
Orientations for BINHS teaching and non-teaching staff which focused on the orientation
about mental health and psychological first aid and practical strategies to embrace the new
normal in education. And with the BINHS Open Forum for the New Normal in Education
with the theme “Reaching the Community with Love,” aims to address problems, queries,
issues and other concerns frequently asked at the start of the school year.
Buenavista Integrated National High School’s main mission is to provide quality
education and services to our learners. We continually strive to expand the programs and
create a good learning experience to our learners in the State of the New Normal. Let us fight
as one, heal as one and win as one.
Sa BINHS naniniwala kami na ito ay…..
