INTRODUCTION

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Lufungulo Moddy, a fourth year student from Apex Medical University, department
of Nursing Sciences; with my supervisor Ms Twambo .Today we are going to discuss the admission of the adult patient. We are going
to discuss the admission procedure; indications for admission, types of admission and the procedure itself. I therefore urge you to
parciparte fully, by listening, asking, contributing and answering questions.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE

By the end of the lesson/discussion students should be able to gain knowledge and skills and demonstrate an understanding on the
admission procedure of an adult patient and be able to carry out the procedure.

of admission, the requirements and the steps to follow when admitting a client. It is therefore, important to learn how to admitte clients
systematically so as to ensure continuity of care.
