BTS /BSS FIELD MAINTENANCE

( FME/FSE/FSO) TRAINING
JOB ROLE:

1. FM engineer is responsible for coordinating with the NOC and


transmission team to ensure fault free network through periodic maintenance activities
and assisting in fault management in case of fault occurrence at radio locations. He is
also responsible for accepting new sites from Projects team and ensuring completion of
upgrade/ change activities as required.
2. Performing periodical preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance
checks and work order execution. 
3. Document incident reports, trouble tickets to vendor, final solution for
problems. Preparation of corresponding reports regarding responsible area.
4. To contribute to acceptance of new installed sites, nodes, equipments. 
5. To be responsible for checking compatibility of spare parts to support
continues uptime of responsible equipments.

Duration: 2 Months

stabilizer, Power Interface Unit, Power Plant, Air-conditioner, Battery Bank, Alarm panel,
ACDB, DCDB, EGB and IGB,Solar panel, Hybrid battery.
4. RF Equipments:-Introduction, types and usages of panel Antenna (GSM,
UMTS & LTE), Antenna Accessories (Tilt Arrangement, Antenna Clamps etc.), RF cables
& Accessories (RF cables, Jumper cables, RF Connectors, RF Clamp, RF Earthing Kits,
Wheather proofing Kits & Surge arrestors etc.)
5. Transmission Equipments:-Introduction, types and usages of Microwave
Dish Antenna, Feed Horn, Microwave Radio, Wave Guide Cable, Wave Guide

Knife, Drilling Machine, Punching Tools, E1 Connector Tools, Wrapping Tool, Strippers,
Hot Air Gun, Torque Wrench, Ratchet Set, Soldering iron, Tilt Meter, Mirror Compass, RF
cable Cutter, Spirit Level, Allen Key, Rope, Pulley etc.
3. Test Equipments:-Laptop, Multimeter, Analog Power Meter, Digital Power
Meter, Ethernet Tester, VSWR Meter, Site Analyzer,etc.

Module - K: Miscellaneous activities at telecom sites

1. Swapping of equipments, Sector addition, Sector removal, Antenna height


reduction, Capacity expansion.

Module L: Site acceptance and its Procedures.

Module M: Case study of Vendor Equipments used by Operators.

  After successful completion of the training, you will be able to work on

for the sites.
