Health insurance requirements Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a compulsory requirement
for obtaining an Australian student visa. In 2019, the cost for
one semester (6 months coverage) is $330 and the cost for two
semesters (15 months coverage) is $771. For further information, see

Students must hold a current visa which entitles them to study for the duration of their program. Typically this
is a 500 student visa. The 500 student visa has various subclasses, which vary in length and costs. For further

apply for a student visa as soon as they receive their COE (Confirmation of Enrolment). All visas are subject to
conditions and students must ensure that they comply with the conditions of their visa at all times.
