Internship Case Study

During the IUP Dressed for Work internship, I was assigned to write a weekly report on

the highlights/tasks for the week for my internship. These reports were due every Friday. The

screenshots of these reports are located below. I would also sometimes include comments or

concerns I may have had during the week while attaching documents, tables or images made.
Our internship site was dedicated to have a service of having a career closet for IUP

students to obtain professional attire for their own use. We made social media flyers, and

accounts to make it more known and to reach out to students to let them know about our

services. Also, we made infographics for people who would like to donate to this closet, in help

of the IUP student body. The fees or charges for these services would be minimal and would

range from $2 to $5.

The main image of our internship site was the logo created for the IUP Crimson Closet.

Our advertisements, flyers, infographics were made for specifically the IUP Crimson

Closet. We made Instagram story highlights to make it easy to find, and grasp information from
in a short amount of time. Our marketing strategy was to make flyers for students so they would

be able to take advantage of the closet, but also for those who want to donate. We made social

media accounts, such as an Instagram as well as a Twitter account that are linked together. This

helps so when a post is uploaded to Instagram, it will also upload to Twitter. These being linked

can attract engagement from both ends, especially if some follow one account and not the other.

We also plan to post students in their professional outfits that they will acquire, they can tag us

and we can share the tag to try and gain attention from others to do the same and visit the closet.

We also provided graphics that have examples on what they can donate and what they cannot

donate. Some examples are as followed.

During this internship, I mainly worked close with Dr. Aleea Perry, who is an assistant

professor of the Political Science department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Perry

was my supervisor on this internship, as we had weekly meetings every Monday morning to

discuss the research and work done the week prior. She guided me and helped me with my

research, advice and constructive criticism on any flyers, social media accounts/posts as needed.

I also wrote a weekly summary email to Dr. Perry and my other internship supervisor within my

own department, Professor Fox of the Communications department.

Our internship site for the IUP Crimson Closet did not have or was assigned any type of

budget. Our location was given to us by IUP in Delaney Hall, and our clothing has been donated

to us. When it comes to donations, they are to contact Dr. Perry with all intentions. Dr. Perry has

assigned me to all the projects and tasks when it came to the IUP Crimson Closet and evaluates

them with then giving me feedback on how they can improve. Dr. Perry estimated the time and

hours it would take for each major task of the internship, as well as including the time of the

weekly meetings and email write-ups. There are no other forms or other systems used to make

assignments.
