The Story:

NETIX Controls - integrated building management system platform had to the complete
integration of the HVAC systems like; the air handling units, dampers, variable air volume boxes
along with integration of the electrical systems like load manger and UPS. The integration scope
also included fire and other low voltage systems.
Understanding the customer’s requirement and meeting the same was the key towards the
successful execution of this project.

The Challenge:
The Project having Existing JCI Metasys software installed, customer had site support issues from
the OEM and the OEM was also charging very high for the maintenance of the system.
The Solution:
Though the customer was using the NAE (which is a BTL listed device) it was not communicating
with the Metasys software over BACNET/IP, it was communicating with the software over a
proprietary protocol. The challenge we had faced due to this was that all the NAEs that were
being used in the project has a common BACNET ID and the same was clashing while we replaced
the OEM software with NETIX Controls. To resolve the issue, we had to change the BACNET ID of
each NAE by using a different version of Metasys software and had to segregate all the data
individually. Once we managed to integrate the NAEs we provided the customer with the
complete front-end solution that includes graphics, alarm management and custom reports.
