Meaning:
1.1: (Salutations to Devi Saraswati) Who is Pure White like Jasmine, with the Coolness
of Moon, Brightness of Snow and Shine like the Garland of Pearls; and Who is Covered with
Pure White Garments,
1.2: Whose Hands are Adorned with Veena (a stringed musical instrument) and the Boon-
Giving Staff; And Who is Seated on Pure White Lotus,
1.3: Who is Always Adored by Lord Brahma, Lord Acyuta (Lord Vishnu), Lord
Shankara and Other Devas,
1.4: O Goddess Saraswati, Please Protect me and Remove my Ignorance completely.

Extend a hand of support, Oh Lord of Valli,

Who is the chief of gods, who is merciful,

Who is friend of the oppressed,

Who is the son of the lotus faced lord of goddess Parvathi,

And whose lotus feet is worshipped

By all gods and also by Lord of Goddess Lakshmi.

Meaning: The accurate meaning of this mantra is: "A practice of offering is Brahman, the oblation is Brahm
offering is made, is also Brahman. For such a one, who abides in everything (Brahman), by him alone Brahm

Significance: Brahman refers to God himself. This Shloka suggests that god is everywhere, in the food, insi
to the hunger (God). To put succinctly, we always thank god for his divine grace.

Raamaskandham hanumantam vainateyam vrkodaram


shayane yah smarennityam duh swapnam tasya nashyati

Sanskrit to English Word Meaning:

raamaskandham- Rama‟s loyal follower; hanumantam- Hanuman; vainateya-


Garuda; vrkodaram- Bhima; shayana- sleep time; yah- this; smaren- chant;
nityamalways;
duh- bad; swapnam- dream; tasya- then; nashyati- destroyed

Meaning:

Meditating upon Hanuman, Garuda and Bhima before going to bed ensures a
sleep without disturbing dreams.
