● Words in spanish can be a little long, intimidating. You can split it into syllables and read
syllable by syllable. Syllables can be divided:
○ After a vowel: Ex. o-cu-pa-do (busy, occupied), u-va (grape), ce-na (dinner),
i-de-a (idea), fe-o (ugly), e-co-no-mí-a (economy)
○ If there are two or more consecutive consonants partition after the first
consonant. Ex. u-ni-ve r-si-dad (university), e-lé
