There are so many kinds of people in this world. He maybe honest/dishonest, good/bad, greedy/generous etc.
However in our topic for today, we have only 3 kinds of people namely moviegoer, actor and scriptwriter. Yes, it
seems we are in the world of film industry. Now, let us differentiate the for more understanding and to know

miserable people in this world. ACTOR - watches and control a big part of his life, can make or break the movie, a
happy bunch, the show will not start without them, but many times, they wish the movie to end in another way,
but realize they have no say in such things. SCRIPTWRITER - does not only watch/act but she/he actually creates
the entire movie from his/her mind. She/he determines what she/he will say/do & how the movie will end.

ASPECT OF THE SELF
A deeper look on the different aspects of self can identify specific areas for self regulation, stability and
improvement. For instance, in a nutshell, an individual is composed of three (3) basic but very different aspects of
the self. They are PHYSICAL as they relate to the body. More time and money is spent on enhancing the physical
component as compared to the other two aspects. INTELLECTUAL aspects as they relate to the mind. It is the part
of the self that directs the other two aspects. The mind learns what to do & communicates the information to the
body and the feelings. EMOTIONAL relates to the spirit. The human emotions are the most feared aspect of self, as
individuals are reluctant & unprepared to manage them. Managing feelings is like trying to hold water in the palm
of your hand. A decision made under emotional stress and strain usually impacts emotions negatively. A very good
example of this is a girl giving much attention on the physical aspects & less attention on her intellectual self. She
discovered that much money & time are spent in maintaining her physique & its consequences on her grades. By
evaluation, she plans effective actions to improve her study habits. She seeks help, read related books, browse
articles to help her improve her study habits.

EsP-PD11/12KD-la2.2

Instructions/Directions: Draw a large circle. Divide this into eight (8) segments. In each segment, write some
descriptions of the different aspects of yourself as follows:1. PHYSICAL SELF- height, weight, skin, hair, waist, legs 2.
INTELLECTUAL SELF- reasoning, solving problems, wisdom you acquired, insights you have. 3. EMOTIONAL SELF-
feelings you have, avoid, enjoy, sad etc. 4. SENSUAL SELF - senses you use most of the time, sight, hearing,
speaking, smelling, touching.`5. INTERACTIONAL SELF-strength & weaknesses in intimate relationships to friends,
family, co-students, strangers. 6.NUTRITIONAL SELF - what foods you like/dislike? 7. CONTEXTUAL SELF-reaction to
light, temperature, space, weather, colors & sounds and impact in the environment. 8. SPIRITUAL SELF - feelings
about spiritual development & history, your inner peace and joy.

THE STORY OF THE TWO WOLVES

It is an old Cherokee Indian story which is helpful. According to the old Cherokee there is a battle that goes inside
people. It is the battle between two wolves inside us all. Interpreting it literally, it is impossible that there are two
wolves inside our body. In this story, one is evil and the other is good. Evil consists of anger, envy, greed, arrogance
etc. Goods are joy, peace, love, hope, kind etc.. According to the old Cherokee, the same fight is going on inside
us. Then the grandson asked his grandfather as to who will win and he replied “the one you feed.”

Knowing which wolf to feed is the first step twards recognizing you have control over your own self.

The purpose of this story is to help find ways to manage your mind so that you can live your life more in accordance

THE COURAGE TO BE IMPERFECT

Encouragement is the key ingredient for getting along with others. It develops a person’s psychological hardiness
and social interest but to some it is often hard to put into practice. Most of the time, people mistakenly use a
technique like praise in an effort to encourage others .

Example is that when children misbehave, it is because they are discouraged. Instead of building them up, we tear
them down; instead of recognizing their efforts, we point out mistakes.

Most of us are skilled discouragers. We bribe, punish, nag or threaten.

Encouragement enhances a feeling of belonging , leading to uniting themselves with other people.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress - according to Webster is an emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. It is also in a practical
way the feeling one gets from prolonged, pent-up emotions.

If you experience pleasant and desirable like joy, delight etc. You usually feel free to let them show. They are not
suppressed and do not usually cause stress. Negative emotions are held inside.

Prolonged stress can be devastating, burn-out breakdown and some results of long-term unmanaged stress.
