Data Classification
1. One-Way Classification is a classification of observations on the basis of a single
criterion.
2. Two-Way Classification is a classification of observations according to two criteria.

TABLE OF CRITICAL VALUES FOR THE F-DISTRIBUTION (for use with ANOVA)
There are two tables here. The first one gives tabular values of F at the 𝒑 = 𝟎. 𝟎𝟓 level of
significance and the second table gives critical values of F at the 𝒑 = 𝟎. 𝟎𝟏 level of
significance.
Locate the tabular value of F by getting the intersection value of 𝒙 (𝒅𝒇 of greater mean
square) and 𝒚 (𝒅𝒇 of smaller mean square).

d. Decision
Since 𝐶𝑉 > 𝑇𝑉, reject the null hypothesis.
e. Conclusion
The three teaching methods are not significantly different from one another.
Activity #2
1. The final scores of four statistics classes taught by 4 different instructors are recorded as
follows. Test the hypothesis at 0.01 level of significance, that the teaching methods of the
four instructor are the same.

69 69 97 61

2. The following are the mileage obtained after several road test were run using five
different kinds of gasoline on a car. Is there a significant difference among the mileage
yields, at 5% level of significance?
