1. Executive Summary

Haridwar Auto plant’s Safety department raised a requirement for an application to digitize the
process of Safety/near miss/hazardous condition for workman reporting.
It is a blanket document for listing all the user requirement, its analysis and understanding. This
document will also act as a reference for any other documentation to be created for the Project -
defining the task, responsibilities, additional documents used, etc.

2. Objective of Project

The purpose of the development is to create a web application for Haridwar Auto plant’s Safety
department. This portal will be available shop floor workman on Kiosk, connect to LAN to report
near miss and hazardous work conditions.

3. Project Scope

 Project Scope
The scope of project for the development of a web application for Haridwar Auto plant’s Safety
department as defined below:
Business Requirement 1:
Reporting of an incident should happen via a simple UI and guided form so that workman submits the
same with ease
- Page to report unsafe working condition/near miss
- This page will be displayed on kiosk placed
- Kiosk will be placed on shop floor or canteen
- Kiosk will be connected to wired LAN, no wi-fi facility available on shop floor or canteen
Business Requirement 2:
- In case of any incident reported mail will be triggered ( From–
Safetyalert.Haridwar@mahindra.com and To sandhu.amrinder@mahindra.com )
- Reports will be generated and mailed in the format shared by Haridwar Safety department
- An interface will be provided to select the period and get the reports mailed to Mr. Amrinder
Sandhu (pre-defined user)
Business Requirement 3:
- The web application needs to be mobile/Tablet responsive
- Web app needs to be available on open internet – Hence will need to meet security compliance
guidelines and will also need to be hosted on cloud

 Intended Users
Intended Users of the said Application are:
 Haridwar Plant Safety department
 Shop floor workman
 M&M officers

 User Characteristics
This application will be available to all employees with Token nos, with rights to report Near miss and
Unsafe Condition for workman.

 Dependency Linkage
 System will operate on major internet browsers like IE - 10 and above, Google Chrome, Firefox
and Safari
 System will not work on internet and work only on intranet (LAN)

 Out of Scope
 Integrations with any other applications or systems
 Anything which is not included in above scope of work

4. Project Cost Estimates

User Interface and Design Efforts: 8 Man Days


Development Effort: 18 Man days
Security compliance: 5 Man Days
Testing Effort: 2 Man days

One Time:
Above efforts estimate will amount to INR 1,67,200/-.
Recurring Annually:
Cloud hosting & Support costs – INR 30,000/- PA
Change Requests costs – As per T&M basis
Will provide timelines post approval of the above costs.
