CREATE A TIME LINE ABOUT THE EVOLUTION OF THE DRAWING
OVER TIME, KEEP IM MIND THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS:

TIMELINE: Evolution of
the drawing over time

-Upper Paleolithic period: 45.000-20.000

years ago
It all begins in the Upper Paleolithic, some 45,000 years ago, his main
drawings were located in Europe caves, being mainly representations
of animals being hunted or simply animals, the drawings were made
both inside the caves and on animal skins, and they did it with reddish
inks, these drawings are known as rock art, the Altamira sanctuary has
the most of these representations. This type of drawings were seen
throughout the Paleolithic period, taking into account from the creation
of the first drawing (45,000-12,000 years ago)

-Egyptian period: 12.000 years ago:

Generally, they used the drawing on the walls of their temples and
pyramids, they also used it on papyri. Mainly they represented their
daily life and a very marked characteristic of their drawings was that
the most important people drew them larger (such as priests or the
pharaoh) and used to represent their gods also in rather large sizes.
Something also very characteristic of Egyptian drawing was that they
used to do it in ceramics and leather using generally flat and unmixed
colors, and something curious was that men's skin was painted in a
shade darker than that of women.
-Neolithic period: 10.000-5.000 years
ago:
It focused mainly on fixing the concept of symbols instead of drawings
or images, although a style of rock painting was also developed on
rocks, which represented human figures, but we can highlight pottery
as the most important advance in drawing and painting, since drawings
and representations of the time were carved on the clay of the
sculptures.

We will start using B.C from now on.

-Celtic culture: 1.000-ii B.C:

His drawing is characterized by being abstract and using many shapes
as spirals, in his works they used to include all kinds of animals,
whether real or fantastic, and the artists in their drawings did not leave
any space, they used their entire workspace for the "Horror vacui "or
simply horror of emptiness, his drawings were very symmetrical, and
had strong symbolism.

-Roman period: ii-iv B.C:

The type of art and drawing in general was based a lot on Greek art.
However, it had its boom in its golden century (II AD) where it even
influenced the next era, and although we know that it focused on
architecture, its drawing, it was also very important, having
characteristics such as realism and that they always tried to represent
human figures.
-High medieval: v-xiv B.C:
At this time the artists didn't sign their works, and for the most part they
were anonymous, the drawings and paintings were based on
representing religious figures, mainly Christian, and there were
drawings and paintings on murals.

-Modern age: xv-xviii:

The famous Renaissance art was known with artists such as Leonardo
Da Vinci and at least in Italy they painted and drew works representing
facts of Christianity, such as the Last Supper, and their drawing style
was mainly painting on canvas painted in opaque colors.

-Contemporary age: xix-present:

Religious representations come to the background, and artists seek
new ways of expressing themselves out of the ordinary by resorting to
other forms of drawing, such as abstract drawing or surrealism, while
there are also social criticisms within their works.
