Notes
 For Pinyin (Romanized spelling system), please see the Learning Pronunciation
Section of the Learning Chinese Online Page.
 Both "xìng" and "jiào" in Chinese are verbs. "Wǒ xìng..." means "I am
surnamed..." The English sentence "My last name is Smith" would be "Wo xing
Smith."
 There is no articles before nouns in Chinese. "I am a teacher." in English would
be "Wǒ shì lǎoshī." in Chinese

Notes
 "shénme" means "what", "which". In Chinese a question word does not occur at
the beginning of a sentence. Pay attention to the world order in questions.
