COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, the students are anticipated to;

1. distinguish and explain the goals of MAKABAYAN;


2. identify the descriptions and principles of MAKABAYAN to fully understand assertion;
3. delineate through comparing and contrasting the various MAKABAYAN subjects;
4. grasp fully the objectives and goals of civics, geography, and history;
5. value the role of Civics, Geography, and History towards one’s development;
6. master the contents and skills necessary to teaching Secondary Social Studies;
7. model appropriate approaches and/or strategies to teaching Social Studies; and
8. invent new strategies to teaching Social Studies content and skills.

Course Syllabus

I. Course Code and Title: Hist 122 – Building Bridges Across Social Science Discipline
II. Course Credit and Hours per week: 3 units 3 hrs per week
III. Course Description: A study which covers varied presentations of interactive activities and
integrative strategies utilizing thematic approach in instruction of two or more Social
Science discipline.
IV. General Objectives
1. Acquiring integrative models and interactive discipline activities teaching MAKABAYAN.
2. Appreciation of MAKABAYAN as a learning area of teaching.
3. Formulation of instructional objectives and utilizing thematic approach.
