1. Brief Description
Advance Strategic Management (ASM) is an area of practice and research in
marketing management. This subject is designed to develop and understand the
importance of an effective strategic management system in helping organizations
define and achieve long-term and short-term goals vital to its overall success.
Formulating, implementing and evaluating strategies helpful in taking competitive
advantage by focusing on SWOT analysis. This will also help in explaining the
difference between strategy formulation and implementation along with basic forms
of structure for managing conflicts in the organization and allocating resources.
Moreover it helps in understanding all the issues related to strategy implementation,
i.e., marketing issues, finance and accounting issues, R & D issues and MIS issues.

2. Course Objectives
The key objectives of this course are to comprehend
 To explain the meaning, importance, functions and method of management.
 To understand the motivation, types, importance and theories of motivation.
 To know about the leadership and its styles, traits and qualities of a good leader.
 To know the Hierarchy of the management within the organization for making the
organizational decision to achieve the goals of the organization.

3. Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the requirements for this course, students will be able
to:
 The student will be able to know about the management and their sub functions.
 The student will know the motivation, types , importance and theories of motivation.
 The student will be able to know the leadership and its styles, traits and qualities of a
good leader.
 The student will know the Hierarchy of the management within the organization for
making the organizational decision to achieve the goals of the organization.

 Class Participation

Class Participation will be highly encouraged and graded accordingly.

 Assignments

You will be required to submit all assignments on time. Late submissions will not
be entertained.

 Quiz Policy

The surprised written Quizzes will be taken.

 Final and Midterm Papers (General Guidelines)

The Mid-Term exam will be of 20 marks and Final-Term will be of 65 marks.


Time duration of midterm and final term exam is 1:00 hour and 2:00 hours
respectively.

9. Teaching Methodology

The methods of delivery in this course will include, but may not be limited to
lectures, case problems, class discussions, student presentations, etc. Regular
assignments will be given to the students along with announced and surprise quizzes.
The teaching methodology will be based on class discussion. White Board as well as
multimedia will be used during the class.
