 International Relations centers in investigating, depicting, and considering the

relationship among states.
 Studying IR ought not be in disconnection it ought to be seen well through
multidisciplinary approach. The empirical approach describes IR through
current events and the normative approach is the vast body of knowledge
prescribed and lectured by political philosophers and experts in IR.
 In breaking down IR, it ought to be through the conduct that each state
attempts before the international community. The style of authority is the
premise in examining the connection between states.
 According to the Greek Philosopher Aristotle, 'man by nature is a social
animal'. Similarly, as no individual can live in seclusion, no state can bear to
live in detachment. Like the individual no state is independent. In this manner,
each state needs to develop relations with each other.
 International relations are a wider concept whereas international politics is a
narrower concept. International relations are descriptive while that of
international politics is purely analytical. Both international relations and
international politics have their common denominator which is the 'concern for
peace'.
 The Similarities between National Politics and International Relations is that
both are looking for powers as it is the methods through which their wants and
needs can be satisfied and the two of them embrace mental strategies to look
for power. The Dissimilarities between National Politics and International
Relations is that in national politics the people are under the coercive authority
of the state. Then again, in international politics the sovereign states for the
most part resort to wars if their inclinations are imperiled and there is
obviously no other option.
 The key problems in IR are the anarchy, sovereignty, and the collective goods
problem.
 The basic principles in solving collective goods problem are the dominance,
reciprocity, and identity.
