2.4 Checking of batteries for emergency light and evacuation

DANGER
Prerequisites Crushing Hazard in the Hoistway Pit
Entering the hoistway pit exposes a person to the hazard of getting crushed by the moving
car or counterweight.
As a precaution, always check the proper functioning of the pit stop switch (JHSG) before
entering the hoistway pit.

The car must be empty

Emergency light
No. Step
1 Call the car to the landing where the LDU is installed and open the doors.
2 Keep the doors open using a door reversing device.
3 Switch off the main lighting fuse (SIL).
4 Check that the emergency light (in, for example, the alarm button) is turned on.
5 Switch on the SIL.

Manual
Evacuation
When operating the manual brake the following will indicate the car is positioned at a
landing door:
 The LUET LED turns ON
 An audible signal (SW ≤ V9.91 only).

No. Step
6 Move the car out of the door zone using the ESE panel.
7 When the blue LUET LED has turned off, switch off the JH to trigger an
emergency stop.
8 Activate the manual evacuation:
– Switch on the JEM.
– Press DEM until it starts blinking.
9 Press the DEM button repeatedly until the LUET LED turns on.
 When pressing the DEM button, the car moves slowly. When the LUET LED
turns on, the car is stopped.
 If the car does not move and the LUET LED is off, the two batteries have to
be replaced.
10 Switch off the JEM.
11 Switch on the JH.
The elevator control will perform a synchronization trip and then return to normal
operation.

Automatic
Evacuation No. Step
12 Switch off the JH.
13 If CO BIC 5: Insert a bridge between the SEM.LDU:6 and SEM.LDU:7 pins.
14 If CO BIC 7 with external drive: Insert a bridge between the SEM.LDU:6 and
SEM.LDU:7 pins.
15 Switch on the JH.
The elevator control will perform a synchronization trip and then return to normal
operation.
16 Move the car out of the door zone using the ESE.

No. Step
17 To trigger an emergency stop, when the blue LUET LED on the SMIC or SMICFC
turns off, switch off the JH.
Position the car between two floors slightly above the door zone.
 After approximately 30 seconds, the car door closes, the car automatically
moves slowly upward to the next landing, and the car doors open.
 The automatic evacuation is finished.
 If the car does not move, replace the batteries.
18 Danger: Spontaneously moving car
Remove the bridge previously inserted.
19 Switch on the JH.
The elevator control will perform a synchronization trip and return to normal
operation.

2.5 Cleaning of hoistway information (PHS, 2PHS)

CAUTION
Damage to components
Do not use harsh cleaning substances
Use a clean, dry cloth

Procedure
No Step
1 If the elevator has a TSD or a TSD21, carry out an automatic car positioning
sequence. If CO BIC 7 with TSD21, refer to the chapter "Inspection and
Emergency Recall Operation according to EN 81-20 for CO BIC 7" in EJ 604620
"CO BIC 5/7 Commissioning" for inspection travel with the TSD 21 safety
system. For earlier versions of CO BIC, see K 608208 "Schindler 3100 / 3300 /
5300 and 6300 Bionic 5, Rel. 02, Rel. 04, Rel. 06, Rel. 07 Configuration and
Diagnostics".
2 From the car roof, clean the light sensor with a clean, dry cloth.

2.6 Testing of telealarm system software version 9.54 or less

Do not test the alarm buttons inside, on top of or underneath the car if the car is:
– stationary on a floor with the doors open
– traveling
When in these states, pressing the alarm button in the car does not, by default, generate an
audible signal or contact the call center.

Procedure
No Step
1 Press the alarm buttons on, in and under the car one by one to check that the
alarm circuit is in working condition:
– DA
– DA-U
– DA-D.
2 – Check the following alarm functions on the COP:
– The LAGC blinks when an alarm is triggered, then turns on when TACC
acknowledges the alarm, or
– The LAGC turns on when an alarm is triggered, then turns off when
TACC acknowledges the alarm.

4 To establish communication with the car, press the intercom button on the LDU.
5 To perform the test using the emergency battery, switch off the JH and repeat
steps 1 to 4.
Do this with one of the alarm buttons only.

2.7 Testing of telealarm system software version 9.54 or above

Prerequisites The system must be in normal operation mode.

Do not test the alarm buttons inside the car is:

– stationary on a floor with the doors open
– traveling
When in these states, pressing the alarm button in the car does not, by default, generate an
audible signal or contact the call center.

Procedure
No Step
1 On the HMI, set command 134 to status “1”.
This sends an alarm to an automatic response facility at the TACC.
2 Press the alarm button on the COP in the car for > 3 seconds.
– The alarm call is made and the alarm pictogram on the COP turns on.

NOTICE
Control blocked
Downgrading the SCPU SW to a lower version than already installed will cause the control
to be blocked.
Request support from the KW who delivered the controller before downgrading the SCPU
software.

Certain preparation tasks have to be completed before the SW update on Bionic Controller
can be started. Follow the field instructions.

Checks before  Put stickers “In maintenance” on all floors and COPs.
executing SW  Verify that the controller hardware is equal or above Bionic 5 Rel. 04 (the display must
