1. Introduction

1) Introducing the product

Thank you for purchasing the Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1, featuring the Creative latest audio
revolution, SoundBlaster® X-Fi™ chipset.

① Using the latest X-Fi™ audio processor from Creative, Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 helps
conserve system resources. It is built around the blazing fast X-Fi™ audio processor with more
than 51 million transistors and performing 10,000 MIPS (Million Instructions per Second). This
reduces CPU load when playing multimedia files and games, and can improve VGA performance
and the video frame rate of games.

②The Operational Amplifiers ("OPAMP") produce excellent S/N (Signal-to-Noise ratio) and high-
quality sound. LM4562— a high-quality audio opamp of National Semiconductor—is used for front
audio output. OPA2134 of Texas Instruments is used for other outputs.

③The analog input and output of Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 provide excellent sound quality. DAC-
AKM AK4396VF is a high-quality DAC chip used for hi-fi audio and supports 120dB of S/N and
dynamic range. The ADC-AKM 5394AVS in Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 has higher specifications
than even professional audio interfaces.

④ Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 has digital output combo-ports (optical/coaxial) for connecting
various type of digital equipment. You can use any type of digital equipment you like (supporting
24-bit/96 KHz).
.
⑤ Continuous driver support from Creative will keep the Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 current with
your computer Operating System (WINDOWS XP, WINDOWS VISTA 32/64-bit).

⑥ Sound positioning during gameplay is available through the latest Creative's EAX technology.
The first sound card other than Creative's own products to support the latest EAX technology,
Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 provides advanced sound in games with EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 and
hardware acceleration. EAX 2.0 compatibility has appeared in third-party soundcards as well as

4

http://www.auzentech.com
earlier Auzentech soundcards, but that technology—utilizing software acceleration in a 3D
engine—can provide only limited sound positioning.

⑦ Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1 has all necessary connectors for 7.1 channels of digital and analog
output. You can connect to a wide range of equipment, simultaneously. In addition, the extension
port allows further expansion of the Auzen X-Fi™ Prelude 7.1. Visit www.auzentech.om for
updated information on available and compatible Auzen X-Tension’s line of product.

uninstalled.

II. If you’re using onboard sound, you will need to access the CMOS (BIOS) utility at startup. Refer to

the user’s guide of your motherboard if you do not know how to enter setup. Pressing the DEL or

ESC key several times during startup is one possible approach.

A. Enter the menu INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS (or ADVANCED SETTING, CHIPSET

SETTING)

B. Disable Onboard sound (AC97 Audio), MIDI port and Game port.

C. Choose SAVE & EXIT in Exit menu.
