Wooh wooh!”That's the fire alarm”Says Mary to herself”My backyard

caught on fire which is called a bush fire.I live in Australia N.S.W Sydney
, and this is my place.It’s just me, my mum,my dad,my two little sisters
and of course my cute little puppy called Kobe,he's a boy.I have two
best friends ,Siyara, Cailyn and Ruby

“Hey Guys.”Mary said.”Today we all met at the mall in blacktown. We’re

going to buy a couple of things.”Said Mary in her head.”Lets go to
sportsgirl,i need a new phone cover.”Says Cailyn”I need a new one to let
go.”Mary says.

Ding! Mary's phone buzzed.”Hey mary, take the bus to grandma’s

house.I already have some clothes and shoes for you. Sorry But you are
going to have to sleep on the couch until we can buy a new house. Bye,
love you (kissing emoji).”Mary's mother texted.”Guys i have to go.My
mum told me to.Bye.”

Knock knock.”Hello darling. I’m sorry for what happened to your house
but you can stay here as long as you like.” Said grandma joyfully.”Thank
You so much for letting us stay here.”Mary’s mother said.

Grandma turned the tv on and put 9news on .”C'mon do we have to

watch this.” Mary exclaimed. “Yes you do.” Grandma replied. “Breaking
news,first a humiliating amount of bushfires but listen to this,Australia
is in a drought.Scientists specialised in droughts have a theory that this
may go for four or five months.”Said the news lady. “What, that is so
annoying.My house already fell apart by fire and know a stupid
drought!” Shouts Mary. “Scott Morison has made a decision that we will
be under restrictions such as...”The news lady says.Tk.Mary turns off
the tv.”Hey why did you do that says?”Asks grandma.”I don't want to
listen to any of this trash!”Shouts Mary.She storms up the stairs to her
room.

“Hey guys, did you hear about the drought that is happening.I bet there's
gonna be like a specific time to water your plants,have a shower and
flush the toilet. #hilarious . But seriously, i'm so annoyed.” Mary texted
Siyara,Cailyn and Ruby in their group chat.”My grandma has a big
garden so I am quite scared if she's not going to be able to water her
plants.They will die.”Mary says in her head. Siyara replies to her text.”I
know this is annoying.”

Mary heads down stairs.”Hey dad,do you want me to water the plants?
It's a really hot day.”Asks Mary.” I would love you to but the restrictions
are saying that we can only water the plants from 11am-2pm, and the
time is 5:30pm.Sorry.”Replies Mary's father.”Don't be sorry.It's not your
fault.”Says Mary to her father.

“Today i am going to Ruby’s house for a play date.At her house we can
jump in the pool , play with pets, jump on a trampoline and make tik
toks.”Mary says to herself.”Hey, you almost here?”Texted
Ruby.”Yeah,just 5 minutes.”Mary replies.

Ding Dong.Mary pressed the doorbell.” Hey Mary,come in.”Says

Ruby.Mary runs in the house.”Thankyou so much for letting Mary
come.”Said Mary's Mother.”It's alright.”Says Ruby’s mother.Ruby's mum
and Mary’s Mum have a chat.

“What do you want to do?”asks Ruby.”I want to go on the

trampoline.”replies Mary.”Ok.”Mary and Ruby go on the trampoline and
do a competition to see who can jump higher.Mary wins the
competition.”Good job Mary.”Thanks.”Says Mary.Ruby's mum says to
the girls”Hey guys,I need to go to work.I’ll be back soon.Ruby listen to
your brothers ok.” Ruby replies”Bye mum.”Mary and Ruby continue
playing.

At the police station Ruby's mother is doing some paperwork but then
the tv turns on to 9news and something disturbing comes up.”Breaking
news, a new virus has occurred. Scientists have called it
coronavirus.they have called it that because the molecules look like
crowns.
“Hey Ruby,put on 9news.theres a new virus called coronavirus.be
safe.love you.(love heart eyes emoji).”texted Ruby's mum.”Guess
what,did you know that there is a new virus.”says Ruby to Mary.”I hope
nothing bad happens.”Says Mary.

Ding dong.Goes the doorbell.”Oh,that must be my mum.”Says

Mary.Ruby opens the door.”Hi Ruby's Mum.”Hi Ruby,I’m here to pick up
Mary.”Replies Mary’s Mum.”Where’s your mother?” Asks Mary’s
Mum.”She’s at work.oh and also did you know that there is a new
virus.”says Ruby. “Really,what’s it called?” Replies Mary’s
Mother.”Coronavirus.”says Ruby. Mary gets in the car and shouts by
then Ruby says by too.

In the car Mary and her mum have talk.(blue is Mary’s Mum,red is
Mary)Your friend told me about a new virus,how does she know.Well it’s
all over the news and her mum is a police officer.Really,I didn’t know
that.Mary gets home and watches the news.”there will be new
restrictions for how we are going to live.The first one is no one is aloud
to meet up.The second one is social distancing, stay one and a half
meters away.if this gets worse then we will close down
theatres,shopping,school and many more.Mary turns off 9news and
watches on Netflix.

The next morning Mary wakes up with a cold. She comes down
stairs.”Mum,I have a cold.”says Mary. “Ok,I’m sorry to say this but we
are going to have to give you the coronavirus test.”Replies Mary’s
mother.Mary is fine with and they all get in the car on their way to a
hospital. When they arrive they get out of a car.Mary sees Cailyn’s car.

They get inside and sit on a bench.Mary sees Cailyn and her dad.”
Hey,what are you doing here?”Mary asks Cailyn.”I woke up with a flu so
my dad rushed me into the car.” Replies Cailyn.”Mary,it is your turn to
do the test.” Says the Doctor. “Ok,by.”

“Why are you here?”asks the doctor.”I woke up with a cold so my

mother rushed me to the car.”The doctor does the test on her.”Don’t
worry,she does not have the corona virus but I do recommend some
Panadol and if it gets worse give her Nurofen.” Says the doctor.”
Ok,thank you.”Replies Mary’s mother.

They get home and Mary’s mother tells her to get in bed and relax
because she doesn’t want it to get worse.” Mum,I’m not a baby.I can
take care of myself.”Says Mary annoyed.” No,you can only take care of
yourself when you're 18. So until then I take care of you.”Replies Mary’s
mother.mary storms up to her bedroom.

The next morning Mary is really excited because tomorrow is Siyara's

birthday and she’s having a birthday party at her house.
Everyone in the family is awake. “Mum! I’m so excited to Siyaras
birthday.and mum can I bring Kobe with me?”says Mary. “Mary you
can’t go to the party because the coronavirus has gotten worse so they
made a restriction that says no social gatherings.”Replies Mary’s
mother. Mary was a little bit angry but she dealt with it.

Mary went on her phone then a notification disturebed her.It was a

notification from the app 9news.Mary had a look at what it is and it said
that in america there is lots of violence and people deliberately put out
fires.The cause of this is the racism by police man and woman and the
white citizens of america.But not everything is violent because there are
some protests.Mary went and told her mother everything.Her mother is
really shocked.

When Mary finished telling her mother everything she watched some
Netflix.While she was watching netflix she went to sleep.While she is
asleep one of her sisters sneaks into her bedroom so she can take
some of her things then she spots her phone lying on the bed.she takes
it trying to unlock the phone but instead of unlocking it she disables it
so chucks on the bed and runs back to her room.
Mary wakes up from her nap.She goes up the stairs to her room but she
doesn't notice that her sister went in it.she sees that her friends have
been texting her consistently.she replies back to everyone saying”sorry
my phone died.”
“Im back!”Shouts grandma.Mary's sisters come running to hug
grandma.Grandma went grocery shopping.Mary helps unpack the bags.
When she's finished she goes up to her room and goes on her
phone.Grandma and Mary's mother are making dinner.

Dinnertime! Says Mary's mother.Everyone gathers around the table

eating fish,chips and vegetables.Then Mary's dad gets a notification
from the app 9 news.”guys you know how america is getting violent well
now there is no more violence and they are protesting harmfully.” says
Mary's dad.”By the way this is my place.
