researcher desires
EXAMPLES
ADVANTAGES

2. Appropriate method for limited number of primary
data source
3. Effective in exploring anthropological situation
DISADVANTAGES

2. Low level of reliability
3. Inability to generalize findings.
PURPOSIVE SAMPLING
The selection of samples is done without any
predetermined theories or principles

2. Whole system may become useless
3. May not represent the whole population
PURPOSIVE SAMPLING

in her study but then relies on those initial participants to help
identify additional study participants.
EXAMPLES Individuals with rare diseases; Homeless
