Technology-based shared learning system:

The technology based learning system that I designed will work like an app/website that

the teachers and administrators will have access to. In this app/website the faculty will be able to

upload different items that are for our shared learning and that is it. By having the system as an

app/website the staff will be able to access it from home or school. The system will be set up in a

way that a teacher has their own folder that may only be accessible by them and the

administrator, there will also be a community teacher wall where they may upload the things that

they want to share that are approved by the administrator. After a topic is posted for review of

other teachers there will be a comment section under the document that is posted.

Evaluating Professional Learning Topics Prior to Being Shared

A way that a professional learning topic can be review prior to being shared would be for

the teacher that is sharing the topic to post it to the app under the principal’s view so the

principal may review the topic and its content before the teacher submits it to the community part

of the system for all to see. Teachers may not post to the community part for sharing until they

have the clearance from the principal.

How information is shared and applied or implemented into professional practice

After the teacher submits his/her topic to the administrator in the folder provided for them

and it is approved the teacher may then post it to the community teacher wall for all teachers to

see. There topic may be in different forms such as a written document, video, etc. During the

teachers posted presentation they should state how what they are sharing can be implemented in

the teacher’s day to day work.

Feedback on what teachers implemented as a result of the professional learning post

After a topic has been posted by a teacher other teachers will have a time period of two

weeks that they are able to comment under the topic and share how they were able to implement

the techniques shared by their fellow teacher and what the outcomes were, they may also suggest

in this are things that they changed to make it work better for their classroom. The comments

will be seen by all other teachers to review and implement as well.

An appropriate timeline for sharing information, implementing concepts, and monitoring

professional learning outcomes.

All professional learning posts will be submitted at the beginning of the month. After a

post has been shared the teachers will have a week to view the information presented, they will

then have the rest of the month to apply the ideas shared to their classroom as well as be able to

use this time to share the outcomes that they have and from this professional learning as well as

what worked in their classrooms and what did not. The teachers will also have the opportunity to

share during this time the things that they changed/added to the professional learning that worked

better in their classroom.

Rational

Professional learning is a very important part of the education field. Continuous

professional learning helps teachers obtain knowledge and skills they need to use with their

students it may also help them in other ways such as planning their time and staying organized

[ CITATION Tra05 \l 1033 ]. Teachers being able to work with technology is also an important

part in today’s education world. Technology has the ability to enhance relationships between

teachers and can help make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. Technology also

gives teachers the ability to collaborate through technological applications [ CITATION Dor94 \l

1033 ].

The reason I chose this type of technology based learning system is because most

teachers have a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. This learning based system will get the

ones that are not familiar with using different technology used to it which is a lesson in and of its

self that they may also learn to use in their classroom alongside the professional learning topics

that teachers will share with one another [ CITATION Ear18 \l 1033 ].

I made the decisions to use these different steps in my learning system based on the

importance of teacher sharing as well as teacher collaboration. When a teacher shares their

learning experiences it has the ability for one to be more open to new things and possibilities of

change because they are learning it from their peers rather than someone they see as a leader that

is higher up on the educational scale [ CITATION Hor08 \l 1033 ]. When it comes to teacher

collaboration and feedback I made the decision to give the teachers the ability to make their

comments under the shared post so everyone could see in the case that they may have the same

problems or enjoyments as one another, it is important to have feedback because this is another

form of learning which can also be included in the professional learning post [ CITATION

Wes08 \l 1033 ].
