1. INTRODUCTION

The ANYVIEW-500R Innovation mobile C-arm features excellent x-ray Image, quality, accuracy, reproducibility
and long-term stability. Fast kV rising time minimize unnecessary patient dose and supply superior Image
quality, fast Image response.

The operator control console is designed to be simple and user-friendly and one can select or change x-ray
parameters easily using a large soft membrane switch.

Automatic Calibration function will minimize calibration time and set correct calibration value. Computer
program of ANYVIEW-500R offers graphic waveform of kV, mA and data of x-ray exposure. So, you don’t
have to perform manual calibration and measurement equipment are unnecessary. Naturally, ANYVIEW-500R
supports Automatic, Semi-auto and Manual Calibration functions.

Adaptable calibration function keeps up long-term stability and accuracy by trimming calibration data
whenever x-ray exposed.

Remote Diagnosis Software can make report about information of system, user, service and error by the USB
connection between PC and control console, and transfer report to ECOTRON via internet.

Indications for use / Intended use

The mobile C-arm Anyview-500R is intended for use to produce X-ray images of patient during medical
operations. The Anyview-500R system consists of a Main power board and Main control board, Control
console, SMPS, X-ray generator, Image intensifier.

X-ray generator contains the HT tanks and control circuits, the filament drivers, FET drivers, Collimator control
circuits and interface connections to the Main control board.

This product, Fluoroscopic x-ray system, is radiation medical equipment only used by professional radiologists.
This product is designed to provide fluoroscopic and spot film images of the patient during diagnostic and
interventional procedures.

This system can be applied in emergency room, operation room, cast room or etc. of hospital.

Side Effects
Operating X-ray on a patient for a lengthy period of time may cause the following side effects.
 Dizziness
 Nausea
 Vomiting
 Diplopia
 Skin Numbness
 Masticatory Atonia
 Transient leg paresthesia

Contraindication
 In case of taking continuously pulsating X-rays on the parts where artificial cardiac pacemaker or
implantable defibrillator is implanted, such devices may suffer from inappropriate malfunction.
Therefore direct X-ray on these parts should be avoided, and minimum output should be used for a
short period of time.
 In case of taking X-rays of infants, genital protective gear should be used on the genitalia.
 The subject and the conductor should be at least 20cm away from the equipment when taking the X-
ray.

2. SAFETY AND SPECIFICATIONS

2.1 SAFETY

X-ray radiation exposure may be damaging to health, with some effects being cumulative and extending over
periods of many months or even years. X-ray operators should avoid any exposure to the primary beam
and take protective measures to safeguard against scatter radiation. Scatter radiation is caused by any object
in the path of the primary beam and may be of equal or less intensity than the primary beam that exposes the
film.

No practical design can incorporate complete protection for operators or service personnel who do not take
adequate safety precautions. Only authorized and properly trained service and operating personnel
should be allowed to work with this X-ray system equipment. The appropriate personnel must be made
aware of the inherent dangers associated with the servicing of high voltage equipment and the danger of
excessive exposure to X-ray radiation during system operation.

 Wear protective clothing. Protective aprons and gloves with an equivalent of a minimum of 1/64”(0.35mm)
of lead are recommended.

 To protect the patient against radiation, always use radiation protection accessories in addition to devices
which are fitted to the X-ray system

 Keep as large a distance as possible away from the object being exposed and the X-ray tube assembly.

 Never operate this X-ray system in areas where there is a risk of explosion. Detergents and disinfectants,
including those used on patients, may create explosive mixtures of gases. Please observe the relevant
regulations.

 ANYVIEW-500R is made available within 1.5m of the patient environment.

 Do not place liquids(coffee, beverages, flowers, etc) on the X-ray system.

 Do not operate the x-ray system in direct sunlight or near any heat sources.

 Do not operate the x-ray system near strong magnetic fields(microwave ovens, speakers, etc), and avoid
routing the x-ray system near these devices.

 The x-ray system must be operated in locations that are clean(free of excess dust, dirt, debris, etc),
stable(free of vibration).

 Only trained maintenance staff may remove the covers of the x-ray system.

 Always select a focal spot to skin distance as large as possible to keep the absorbed dose for the patient
as low as reasonably possible.

OTHER EQUIPMENT AND THAT IF ADJACENT OR STACKED USE IS NECESSARY,
ANYVIEW SERIES SHOULD BE OBSERVED TO VERIFY NORMAL OPERATION IN THE
CONFIGURATION IN WHICH IT WILL BE USED.

The ANYVIEW-500R X-ray system with CE marking complies with the European Council Directive concerning
Medical Devices. One of the harmonized standards of this Directive defines the permitted levels of
electromagnetic emission from this equipment and its required immunity from the electromagnetic emission of
other devise.

It is not possible, however to exclude with absolute certainty the possibility that other high frequency electronic
equipment, which is fully compliant to the EMC regulations, will not adverse effect the operation of this x-ray
system. If the other equipment has a comparatively high level of transmission power and is in close proximity
to the generator, these EMC concerns (the risk of interference) may as mobile telephones, cordless
microphones and other similar mobile radio equipment be restricted from the vicinity of this X-ray system.

ANYVIEW-500R needs special precautions regarding EMC and needs to be installed and use according to
the EMC information provided in this operation manual. For more information, refer to Appendix B.

2.4.2 SAFETY AND WARNING LABEL

RADIATION WARNING LABEL

This label is attached to the outside of the X-ray system, and


indicates warning for radiation.

HEAVY WEIGHT WARNING LABEL

This label is attached to the outside of the x-ray system, and


states the approximate weight of the main cabinet with the
HT oil tank. Do not attempt to lift this unit without proper
assistance.

HV 3 MINUTES WARNING LABEL


This label is attached to the outside of the main power
module. The DC link capacitor (approximately 325 VDC with
line voltage at 230VAC) will remain charged for up to
3 minutes after the AC mains is disconnected or the AC
switch is switched off.

DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE LABEL


This label attached to the main fuse cover and FET driver
board. Main voltage is present inside the x-ray system
whenever the main disconnect is switched on. Additionally,
the DC link capacitors will remain charged for up to 3
minutes after the AC mains is disconnected or the AC switch
is switched off.

SAFE USE WARNING LABEL

This label attached to a control panel. This X-ray unit may


be dangerous to patient and operator unless safe exposure
factors, operating instructions and maintenance schedules
are observed.

NOTE

THE FOLLOWING SECTION CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ AND


UNDERSTAND THIS MATERIAL BEFORE CONTINUING.

Internal X-ray system components will heat up during normal use of the x-ray system. This is similar to X-ray
tube heating during normal x-ray system operation. The amount of heat produced is proportional to the
product of kV, mA and time.

CAUTION

THIS X-RAY SYSTEM HAS TEMPERATURE MONITORING OF FET-DRIVE BOARD TO


PROTECT THE EXCESSIVE HEAT BUILD-UP.

4. DAILY X-RAY TUBE WARM-UP PROCEDURE

NOTE

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE PRODUCES X-RAYS. OBSERVE ALL SAFETY


PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT PERSONNEL.

Use the procedure when the generator has not been used for several days. This procedure provides for
exposures at medium power before the tube is used at maximum mA or kV values. This will reduce the
possibility of damaging the X-ray tube and high voltage components. No test setup is required.

For maximum stability and reliability, use the following techniques at start up:

Select the following:


 Small focal spot.
 80kV / 2mA.
 Use approximately 10sec per exposure.

Make three to five exposures at 30 second intervals.

6. INSTALLATION

6.1 UNLOADING AND INSPECTING THE SHIPMENT


Before unpacking, the customer should inspect the shipping containers and exposed system components for
any apparent damage. Any shipping container that appears damaged should be unpacked with the carrier’s
agent present. The customer should also ensure that all equipment specified in the purchase order has been
delivered.
If any part of the shipment is damaged or missing, immediately notify the carrier and the service office.
Retain the shipping container and packing material for the carrier’s inspection.

6.2 MECHANICAL TRANSPORT POSITION


(1) Transport position
For safety reasons, you must return both the C-arm system and the monitor cart to their respective transport
position before transporting them.

(2) C-arm system transport position.


To prepare the C-arm system for a transport, do the following:
 Wind the foot switch cable onto the foot switch support and hang up the foot switch there.
 Rotate the C-arm orbitally until the Image Intensifier is positioned directly above the generator and secure
it with relevant orbital rotation brake.
 Lower the lifting column completely using the move up/down buttons.
 Panning the horizontal carriage into a central position and secure it with the panning brake.
 Retract the horizontal carriage completely and secure it with the horizontal movement brake.
 Switch off the system and disconnect the power cable from the power supply.
 Release the parking brake.

(3) Braking and steering the C-arm system


The C-arm system has a combined steering handle & Parking brake. It is located at the rear end and the
bottom side of the C-arm system.

The C-arm system parking brake operates as follows:


 Press parking brake: Wheels are locked.
 Release parking brake: Wheels can move freely.

To steer the C-arm system, do the following:


 Rotate the steering handle until reaching the desired position and Release parking brake.

CAUTION

KEEP IN MIND THAT THE C-ARM SYSTEM MAY ROLL AWAY ON UNEVEN FLOORS.
LEAVE THE C-ARM STAND BEHIND ONLY ON EVEN FLOORS AND LOCK ITS BRAKES.
RELEASE THE PARKING BRAKE ONLY TO MOVE OR POSITION THE C-ARM SYSTEM.

(4) Monitor cart transport position


To prepare the monitor cart for a transport, do the following:
 Wind the power cable onto the cable support on the back of the monitor cart
 Wind the video cable onto the cable support on the back of the monitor cart
 Unlock the parking brake by lifting the foot levers on the front wheels.

(5) Braking and steering the monitor cart.


On the wheels of the monitor cart there are foot levers which serve for locking and releasing the brakes.
 Levers in lower position: the wheels are locked, the brake is locked as well.

 Levers in upper position: you can move the monitor cart to the left and right side.

6.5 C-ARM INSTALLATION


Before switching on the system, after a transport, you must connect the two system components to each other
and also connect the entire system to the power supply.

To prepare the system operation, do the following:


 Plug the video input cable connector into the video output socket located at the front of the C-arm system
and lock the connector.

 Plug the foot switch cable connector into the foot switch socket located at the front of the C-arm system
and lock the connector.

 Make sure that a suitable supply voltage is available and that the socket-outlet is properly grounded and
fused.

6.7 SWITCHING THE SYSTEM ON AND OFF

Both the C-arm system and the monitor cart have power switches for witching the system on.
You must turn on first C-arm system power switch before turn on monitor cart power switch.

You must wait 20 seconds to execute DIS icon ( ) after turn on the C-arm system.

NOTE

DO NOT PLUG ANY USB STICK INTO THE USB PORT UNTIL THE SYSTEM HAS FULLY
COMPLETED ITS POWER-UP SEQUENCE AND THE START SCREEN IS DISPLAYED.

NOTE

DUE TO BACKGROUND RADIATION, THE AIR KERMA, AIR KERMA RATE OF DOSE
AREA PRODUCT DISPLAY MAY INDICATE SOME SMALL VALUE AFTER POWER-UP OF
THE SYSTEM.

6.8 EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON


There is an EMERGENCY STOP button on the C-arm system, enabling you to switch off all electrical
functions of the unit in case of emergencies.

NOTE

PRESS THE EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON ONLY IF THIS CANNOT BE AVOIDED, SINCE
UNSAVED PATIENT DATA AND IMAGES WILL BE LOST.

 Fully press down the EMERGENCY STOP button.

The EMERGENCY STOP button is locked in this position. All electrical functions of the system are disabled.
Any unsaved patient data and/or images are lost.

6.9 BOOTING THE SYSTEM


Turn off the power switch and insert the power plug into an outlet. Turn the power switch on, and check the
messages on the SEGMENT.

You must turn on first C-arm system power switch and turn on monitor cart power switch.

 Initial status
When powered on, the startup screen (figure 6.8) is displayed on the SEGMENT. (During about 5sec and not
allowed input with key)

After 5sec, Initial display will be changed like as figure 6.8 and displayed normal fluoroscopy offset condition
“80KV, 1mA”

This key is used to get out of the 'Tube Limit' status for emergent re-

12. MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

12.1 GENERAL CAUTION


It is recommended to follow the maintenance procedure described below, for the reliable operation. The
routine inspection should be committed by a trained expert

12.2 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

12.3 THE EQUIPMENT OPERATION CHECKLIST FOR OPERATOR


Operator needs to conduct the maintenance once a month, by the following procedures.

ABS:
1 After selecting ABS, use Phantom to take images of particular parts (eg: hand, foot, 1 Month
pelvis, vertebrae etc), to check whether kV and mA changes automatically.

12.4 GLASS IMPLOSION OF I.I


The X-ray image intensifiers (I.I.) are a high-vacuumed electron tube containing glass. Do not scratch or strain
the glass of the I.I. for the prevention of the implosion.
(1) Because of the risk of implosion, a protection mask shall be put on and extreme care shall be taken when
manipulating the bare tube.
(2) The aluminum plate (for light-shielding) on the entrance plane of housing also plays as a protection against
the injury due to implosion. When removing the plate, the input side shall not face a person. The protection
plate such as anti-scattering grid is recommended when removing the plate.

12.5 CLEANING
Keep the machine clean when it gets dirt, especially after a surgery. To clean the main-body, turn off the
power and pull the plug out from the outlet. Scrub surfaces smoothly with soft fabric or gauze. Keep the
machine clean when it gets dirt, especially after a surgery.

To clean the main-body, turn off the power and pull the plug out from the outlet as pictures above. Do not allow
liquids and water enter inside the unit, to prevent from short circuits and corrosion of inner parts.

WARNING

Make sure the disconnection from the mains before cleaning the unit!

Clean the painted surfaces using only a damp cloth


and neutral detergents. Take care to dry the parts
with a dry cloth. Do not use corrosive solvents
(Alcohol, Gasoline)

Clean the extra covers, carrying handles, foot switch, hand switch, breakers, monitors and the
accessories using a damp cloth.
Periodically and when necessary decontaminate the op panel, the carrying handles, the breakers, the
surfaces of monitors using a proper decontaminator.

WARNING

Do not keep near the magnetic stuffs and water pails etc. They might bring a serious
harm to the system.

12.6 THE END OF PRODUCT LIFE

If the X-ray system has completed its useful service life, local environmental
regulations must be complied with in regard to disposal of possible hazardous
materials used in the construction of the generator.
In order to assist with this determination, the noteworthy materials used in the
construction of this generator are itemized below:

• Electrical insulating oil in HT tank. This is a mineral oil with trace additives (11 Liter)

• Solder (lead/tin).

• Epoxy fiberglass circuit board materials, tracks are soldering on copper.

• Wire, tinned copper. Insulated with PVC or silicone.

• Steel and / or aluminum (x-ray system body and console chassis).

• Plastic (console membrane).

• Electrical and electronic components: IC’s, transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, etc.

13. QUALITY WARRANTY


 Scope & Duration of Warranty
ANYVIEW-500R manufactured by ECOTRON Co., Ltd. are warranted to be free from defects for a period of
one year after purchase date. If during the warranty period the product you purchased is found to be defective,
it will be repaired free of charge.

In the case of one of the following, however, a certain amount of service fees will be charged.
• Defect or damage found after the warranty period.
• Defect or damage in appearance which is not related to main function of the system.
• Damage caused by a natural disaster; such as fire, earthquake, or lightning strikes.
• Damage resulting from either improper movement or inattention to the precautions.
• Damage resulting from repair or modification by someone other than ECOTRON or the authenticated by
ECOTORN Co., Ltd.
• Damage caused by a natural disaster; such as fire, earthquake, or lightning strikes.
• Incidental or indirect loss caused during system manipulation.

Any or all defect or damages in appearance, which do not affect the main functions of the product are
not covered by this free of charge warranty.

 Prerequisites for Repair Request


- When a defect is found, stop the using immediately. It is strongly recommended to refer to related
material on the Service Manual.
- Before a service request, must power off the entire system and check the model number, serial
number, and the purchase date. Then contact an authorized service office.
 Any product with a defect in appearance only shall not be returned to nor replaced by ECOTRON Co., Ltd.
ECOTRON Co., Ltd. shall not be liable any incidental or consequential damages arising out of or relating
to the use of the product.
 ECOTRON Co., Ltd. shall not be liable for any damages or losses occurring after the warranty period.
 This Quality Warranty prevails over the detailed Warranty for fitness or all other warranties in relation to
the product.

Electromagnetic emission

The ANYVIEW-500R is intended for use in electromagnetic environment specified below. The customer or the
user of the ANYVIEW-500R should assure that it is used in such an environment.

The ANYVIEW-500R is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances
are controlled. The customer or the user of the ANYVIEW-500R can help prevent electromagnetic
interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment
(transmitters) and the ANYVIEW-500R as recommended below, according to the maximum output power of
the communications equipment.
