SCRIPT (ROLEPLAY) “Presenting the typical Filipino Values”

Scenario: You are a manager of a foreign company that has just started its operation here in the
Philippines. Your boss from Germany asks you to orient him regarding the uniqueness of ethical
practices in the Philippines. Your task now is to make a presentation that will highlight the
Filipino values. You will act as if you are presenting it to your German corporate officer.

Claire (Employee)

Manager (GRACE): Good morning, I call you because we have an urgent meeting right now. Our
boss from Germany will arrive soon/ later to orient him regarding/ regards to our ethical
practices here in our workplace. And I need your cooperation.

Employee/ Assistant (CLAIRE): Yes ma’am we’ll do our best to make him impress and will share
some knowledge about Filipino values here in our country especially in our workplace.

Manager (GRACE): Okay, good so let’s start now. (back to work)

Employee (CLAIRE): Good morning sir, how may I help you?

German (MON): Good morning, may I know where is the office meeting?

Employee (CLAIRE): Yes sir, please follow me

German (MON): Thank you!

Manager (GRACE): Good morning Sir Mon, Welcome to our Mabuhay Company (shake hands)

German (MON): Good morning Ms. Hernandez. Thank you for your warm welcome here in your
company. You/ We may now proceed.

Presentator 1 (DESSA): The Filipino value system or Filipino values refer to the set of values or
the value system that a majority of the Filipino have historically held important in their lives.
Here in our company, it is important to be hospitable, hardworking and optimistic, these traits
or values can help a company to achieve its goals and objectives for the better future.

Presentator 2 (JULIA): Next value is being a hard working (explain)

Presentator 2: (JULIA) Being optimistic (explain)

German (MON): Thank you, your presentation made me impress. But if there are some projects
you have in your company which have been left undone in a set period of time, how did you
handle this?

Presentator: Like what we presented sir, we Filipinos have extraordinary ability to make
something out of this trial, we’ll make sure that everything is organize and we’ll make sure to
survive for the success of the company.

German: Alright, I think my company here will get/ do better. Thank you for your truthfulness
and sharing experience here in your country.
