underarm CO, place marker and join to work in the
round.
Work in St st until sleeve measures 2 in (5 cm) from

Work in St st until sleeve measures 13.75 in (35 cm) from
underarm. Continue in MC to end and work next 20
rounds in garter st. BO all sts loosely.
Rep for second sleeve.
Collar and button bands
With MC yarn and right side of body facing, beginning at
the bottom of the right front, pick up and k 1 st out of
every garter ridge (1 st out of 2 rows), 2 sts out of 3 rows
from St st part, then every st from CO, then again 2 sts
out of 3 rows from St st part and 1 st out of every garter
ridge.
On next row (WS) place marker 12 sts below the end of V-
Neck on right front, k to 10 sts before end, pm, k to end.
Count sts between markers and divide into 4 parts for
buttonholes. Equalize numbers (by replacing the upper
marker) if necessary. On next row place markers for
buttonholes (5 markers on right front), work 7 rows in
garter st (ending with a WS row).
Next row (Buttonhole row): K8, *k2tog, remove marker,
yo, yo, ssk, k to 2 sts before next m, rep from * to 2 sts
before last m, k2tog, remove marker, yo, yo, ssk, k to end.
Next row:*K all sts until you reach the double yo, p the
first yo, k the second yo, rep from * to end.
Work 5 rows in garter st (ending with a RS row).
On next row place markers at the end of V-Neck on both
front sides.
Short row 1: K to second m, turn.
Short row 2: Sl 1, k to first m, turn.
Short row 3: Sl 1, k to 2 sts before last turn, turn.
Short row 4: Sl 1, k to 2 sts before last turn, turn.
Rep last 2 rows 6 times more.
Short row 17: Sl 1, k to 4 sts before last turn, turn.
Short row 18: Sl 1, k to 4 sts before last turn, turn.
Rep last 2 rows once more.
Short row 21: Sl 1, k to end.
Next row: K all sts.
I-Cord BO
With CC yarn CO 3 sts and place these 3 sts in front of the
first st of right front bottom on left needle.
*k2, k2tog tbl (the last st of I-Cord with the first st of the
front edge), transfer I-Cord sts back to left needle and rep
from * throughout to end. Finish I-Cord BO: Slip 3 sts back
to left needle, k1, k2tog tbl, slip 2 sts back to left needle,
k2tog, pull thread through remaining st and secure.
Weave in and secure all ends. Block to measurements
and sew on buttons according to the buttonholes.
