Reflect on your own experience at school. What are the possible advantages and
challenges of creating an English-rich environment for your students?
Creating an English-rich environment for students is one of most important issues
that almost every teacher is concerned about. There are several possible advantages
and challenges of buiding an English-rich environment for the students.
One of the advantages that we can see easily is that an English-rich environment
helps students become more interested in learning English than normal environment.
Moreover, studying in a good English environment also helps students work up to
their capabilities. There are many English clubs which students can take part in to
improve their language knowledge. Studying in international classes also helps them
have a great deal of chances to go or study abroad.
On the other hand, there are a lot of challenges of creating an English-rich
environment. First of all, the students’ input capacity is not equal. Moreover, not all
students are good at or interested in English, so when studying in this environment,
students will become pressured, which partly reduce the efficiency of creating an
English-rich environment.
Building an English-rich environment has several possible advantages; however,
we should think about it carefully because of its challenges.
