Introduction
Dear Sir / Madam, thank you for choosing Termorad product.
2 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION MANUAL IN ORDER
TO GET THE INFORMATION ON THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION, USE AND
MAINTENANCE OF THE ELECTRIC WATER HEATER.

THE DEVICE CANNOT BE OPERATED BY CHILDREN, PEOPLE WITH REDUCED

PHYSICAL, MOTOR OR MENTAL ABILITIES, OR LIMITED KNOWLEDGE AND
EXPERIENCE, WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF A PERSON IN CHARGE OF THEIR
SAFETY AND CARE.

The electric water heater is a device designed for heating sanitary water that can be used for cooking, bathing, laundry... The
water heater is of the closed type, which means that it is intended for use under pressure from the water supply network.
Water heaters BT-160 IB-80, BT (200, 280) IB-80+50 meet the safety standards for household appliances. They have the
certificate of electromagnetic compatibility. Termorad Group guarantees the safety and quality of the product if all conditions for
installation and maintenance are met according to these instructions.
The electric water heater with heat exchanger is designed for connection to the solar and boiler heating system. It is possible
to use only one system.

Installation
3 These types of water heaters are installed only in vertical position. They are placed on solid substrates, such as concrete
or thicker metal (asphalt is not recommended) to prevent thinning over time, which would strain the connecting pipes. It is
necessary to provide minimum space around the water heater (shown in Figure 1), which is necessary for the installation
of the water heater and subsequent maintenance. In addition to the electric water heater, the manufacturer supplies a
safety valve and an additional safety valve.

The place of installation of the water heater must be protected from damage that can be caused by leakage of water from the
water heater.

Connection to the water supply network

Cold water is supplied by connecting the supply pipe to the connector 4 (Figure 3). The pressure in the cold water supply network must
be in the range of 0.1 to 0.6 MPa. The safety valve provides protection against excessive pressure in the tank. Please note that
during installation, the place of additional safety valve and the place of safety valve must not be changed - the additional safety valve
has only one 3/4” inlet, while the safety valve has 3/4” inlet and outlet. An expansion diaphragm tank for sanitary water must be
installed on the cold water supply. The expansion tank is installed / mounted according to Figure 2.
The expansion tank pre-pressure has to be lower than the pressure in the installation for at least 0.2 MPa, while the final
operating pressure in the expansion tank should be 80÷90% of the safety valve installation pressure. The final operating pressure in
the expansion tank should be set to 60°C after the water in the water tank has been heated.
The pre-pressure and final operating pressure in the expansion tank can be adjusted by adding or releasing air from the
tank on the air valve. In order for the expansion tank to function properly, it is often necessary to control the pressure during
installation or on the water network by installing a pressure reducing valve.
The authorized installer should inspect the expansion tank once a year and carry out any necessary repairs and, if
necessary, replace the tank. The hot water outlet to consumers (Figure 3) is connected to the connector 1 (hot water outlet) marked
with a red rosette. The connector 2 (recirculation) is connected to the water recirculation pipe in the facility that allows hot water to
flow immediately after activating the battery, regardless of how far the battery is from the water heater, provided that the battery is
positioned vertically above the water heater. If there is no recirculation pipe in the facility where the water heater is installed, then it is
necessary to "secure" or plug this connector 2 (Figure 3). Use appropriate materials for sealing when connecting pipes to fittings.

Fig.2 Assembly drawing
Safety valve
The safety valve (Figure 2.1) is a device that is mounted on the cold water supply to the water heater and its role is to
protect the device from excessive pressure. The valve is installed so that water flows in the direction indicated by the
arrow on the valve. The side opening must be directed downward. The function of the safety valve is not to allow the
pressure in the water heater tank to exceed the rated pressure by more than 0.1Mpa. These water heater models also use
an additional safety valve (Figure 2.2), see assembly drawing (page 3, Figure 2).

It is forbidden to use the water heater without first installing a safety valve.

It is normal for the valve to release a certain amount of heated water during the day, which is why we recommend installing a
hose at the outlet of the valve, which is directed into the drain. Valve control is done by opening the valve outlet. Check once a
month.
Please read the instructions for installation and maintenance provided by the valve manufacturer, which is included in the package
with a safety valve.

Note: The valve manufacturer guarantees the operation and proper functioning of the valve.

This figure is just a provisional scheme and a non-binding recommendation regarding possible connection to the system. The
control devices (differential thermostat with temperature sensors T1, T2, T3, T4) must be designed in accordance with
applicable standards and SRPS regulations.
Connection to the electrical network
6 Electric water heaters are permanently connected to the electrical
network according to the applicable SRPS regulations.
Electric scheme

Before the connection, the water heater must be filled with

water.
A 5 x 2.5 mm2 cable must be provided
The cable must not be live during the process of connection.
1. Remove the temperature control knob
2. Remove the heat exchanger plastic cover
3. The cable (5 x 2.5 mm2 provided by the
customer) goes through the bushing on the cover before
connecting to the terminals
4. Connect the conductors to the appropriate
terminals according to Figure 4.
Keep the conductors as far away from the metal components
of the water heater as possible. Improper connection can
damage or cause the water heater to malfunction!!
5. Put back and and secure the cover of the electric heater
6. Tighten the cable gland to secure the cable
Installation must be carried out so that the water heater
can be disconnected from the mains by means of a
separate switch and the switch that separates all poles as
shown in the electrical system (Figure 5). The minimum
switch current is 16A per phase.

The water heater consists of six electric heaters that work

separately, which means that the malfunction of one does not
affect the operation of another. In these cases, the water heater
will heat the water slowly.

Check and replacement of electric heaters
7 1. disconnect the water heater from the mains
2. remove the electric heater cover
3. check whether the heaters have defects or malfunction with an ohmmeter
4. disconnect the electrical installation from the defective electric heater and remove the heater
5. install a new electric heater
6. connect the electrical installation to the new electric heater according to the electrical wiring diagram in the
instructions
7. put back the electric heater cover
8. connect the water heater to the mains

INSTRUCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SRPS IEC 60335-1 (SRPS EN 60335-2-21) STANDARD:

- water can drip from the discharge pipe of the safety device and this pipe must be open to the atmosphere
- the pressure relief device also performs the function of removing lime sediment from the tank during regular operation;
periodic checking of the device is recommended to avoid congestion and blockage
- the pressure relief device is installed on the cold water pipe (Fig. 6, connector no. 4)
- the discharge pipe connected to the safety device should be installed to be directed downwards, where no freezing occurs
- the safety device complies with the standard for the rated pressure of 0.6MPa, of the male-female type

Instructions for draining water

Drainage procedure:

- disconnect the water heater from the mains

- close the drain valves at the connectors 2, 3 and 4 (page 4, figure 3)
- unscrew the hot water outlet to the maximum at the outlet to allow air to enter the water heater
- open the drain valve at the drain port (figure 6, marked port) and wait until the water heater is empty
