LEARNING MODULE
SCIENCE 3 G3| Q1

Module No.1:
 Characteristics of solids,
liquids and gases.

SCIENCE 3 / CSR-TMC 5|P age

This module aims to make students fully understand the three types of Matter.
It contains things that will suit the children's understanding of different types of
matter such as solid, liquid and gas.
It is equipped with a variety of strategies that will help teachers and students
to make each discussion of the lessons more enjoyable and useful. According to the
concept of Science, only one thing can occupy a place in a given time and time (only
one thing can occupy space at a given time), but in this module it is shown that there
is no limit to space when learning the student is at risk. It is hoped that through the
exercises contained in this module the children's understanding of each lesson will
be further facilitated.

INTRODUCTION
This module is designed to meet the needs of teachers and third grade
students especially in the field of instructional material discussing aspects of
matter. In addition, this module contains discussions on various concepts related
to the identification of matter and its characteristics.
CHAPTER 1 – Characteristics of Matter

HUMAN MOLUCULES
Procedure: Each member / team member will pretend to be a molecule. When
solid is mentioned each group will stick together. If liquid, each group will move away
with moderate space. And when it comes to gas, each group is completely far apart
and able to move freely.
For example:
The teacher will show a picture or real object. Each group will stick together. If
a picture of smoke is shown each group will be far apart, and if a picture of water each
group will approach but have enough space.
(rain, air, LPG, umbrella, juice bag)

HUMAN MOLUCULES
Procedure: The teacher will ask what each group should answer in advance.
 Each group has a mat that will be formed according to the shape they hold.
 They can only build it when they answer correctly.
 Each correct answer has a corresponding piece of paper that will form the mat
they are holding.
