REFLECTION PAPER
“To the Filipino Youth”

The poem "THE FILIPINO YOUTH"wrote by rizal is the best message to us especially to the
youth.
To remind us how important our youth in society. On how we care our own nation.
As a youth for today,i'm proud to give and share the blessing that i have to make the people
know how love
our hero's give to us.In my generation today many things and problem are hard to find their
solution because
of other people focust their personal interest in their life, so for me i like to explore the good
things i have learned to our hero's and give chance the people especially the youth to show and
present their talents and abilities, this is not for knowing their talents or abilities but also the
key of their future life.On my observation in our generation today . many children are not
educated especially in urban places were in some of this are using for child exploitation,on my
part on this problem my answer is simple to control our children so that we may provide their
needs especially on their studies. As one of those individuals,i could really feel the nationalistic
spirit of the poem the "FILIPINO YOUTH"we preserve the philippines as a nation not for the
foreigners but for me and the rest of the filipino's.As a filipino it is not important to take a gun
or knife for our protection because if you are a good person, and a good images to others that is
the way of your protection.

The good way of our life is on our own decision, how we can share it,how we can prove it,that is
the way how we contribute, not only for our improvement but also our nation..
SUMMARY
Noli Me Tangere
The title of this novel “Noli Me Tangere” means in Filipino “Huwag Mo Akong Salingin”. Jose
Rizal, our national hero wrote this novel in the year 1884; he was in Madrid taking up medicine
when he wrote this novel. When he finished his course (Medicine), he went to Paris and
continued writing this novel. In Berlin, Jose Rizal finished the last part of the Noli. This novel
was written to remind us the bad things that Jose Rizal experienced during his time with the
Spanish. From the very start of this novel, the first plan of our national hero was to write this
novel with the help of his countrymen who were suffering from the hands of the Spanish, but
suddenly he failed to do it with the help of his countrymen, because his countrymen lose their
hope in fulfilling their dreams to have freedom in the hands of the Spanish colonizers. Jose Rizal
didn’t give up and continued to write this novel without the help of his fellow Filipinos and he
decided to write it by himself only.

The first chapter of this novel was entitled “Ang Paging”. In this chapter, the lifestyle of Don
Santiago de los Santos also known as Kapitan Tiago was stated. He was from Binondo and the
step father of Maria Clara according to this chapter. Also, the other characters were Padre
Sibyla, Padre Damaso, and Tenyente Guevarra. According to this chapter, Kapitan Tiago invited
the said characters to go to his house and have a simple gathering, but suddenly it came to a
fight between Padre Damaso and Tenyente Guevarra. Padre Sibyla stopped the rivalry between
the two. The second chapter was entitled “Ang binatang si Crisostomo”. And in this chapter,
Kapitan Tiago presented Don Crisostomo Ibarra to the priest, the son of his deceased friend
named Don Rafael Ibarra. The next chapters were also fantastic as it antagonize the essence of
the novel. I was amazed by the poeticism of every term and phrases of the story that Rizal did.
The overall impact of the story is all about the love, not only for romance, but also for the love
of country and family.

As a Filipino, I’ve learned about the love for the family and love for the country. Paternal love,
example for this is the love of Crisostomo Ibarra to his Father. When he found out that the
burial of his father was unjust. Well, if I was in the side of Crisostomo, I will give the blessings of
what my father deserved, a decent burial for the last time. Another is the love of Sisa to his
sons, Basilio and Crispin, until the last breath of her life, she was still thinking to his sons. I
realized that love for the family is really unconditional. Additional issues on our political
framework are as dingy as a man who never admitted in his life. I feel sorry for our political
pioneers that the reason that they are our pioneers is on the grounds that they are for the
general population, and trusted by the general population. In any case, sadly, when all is said in
done, our pioneers need to audit their Rizal Course there are wiped away by the enticement
that cash is the foundation of all underhanded.

These issues should be reacted as quickly as time permits in light of the fact that on the off
chance that it is not replied, we can’t offer a brilliant new morning to all future Filipinos and
even to future individuals. The issues of the past up to the present must arrive at an end.

As an understudy, I immovably trust that “Enormous things come in little bundles.” If just that
each understudy that take-up Rizal course won’t overlook every one of the lessons learned, I
clearly guarantee the Philippines will soon open that entryway, the shut entryway in a path to a
whole new nation, the Philippines.
REFLECTION PAPER
“El Filibusterismo”
Dr. Jose P. Rizal wrote El Filibusterismo to show us how an individual planted anger and
develop thirst for revenge. I know that we all want to do good and we all want to be a good
person who choose what is right over what is wrong. Being a good person is fulfilling, not totally
in the sense of blessings but in the sense that we know that we did what is good and our heart
just feels over so light.

For me, Dr. Jose P. Rizal wanted to show us to do our best to never tie up ourselves in doing
bad. The El Filibusterismo also shared that violence is not the answer of the problem that we
encountered in our life. As what I observed, the El Filibusterismo is dark and brutal with many
happenings of killing, sexual abuse and suicide. We must think of it, we should not lower our
self to that level to cover ourselves with the violence and rage or anger.

Should we still consider Rizal as our National Hero?

Yes, of course. Because Rizal fought for our freedom against the invader silently and he use a
powerful way to make them lose the battle. He showed his love to his beloved Filipinos, even
though he is not pure Filipino, by making and writing novels, poems and books, Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo where during the Spanish colonization of the country formed the
nucleus of literature that inspired peaceful reformists and armed revolutionaries alike. He
wrote more about freedom for Filipinos and he want to prove the rights of his kababayan. He is
also best known with his political writings that inspired the Philippine revolution, he is
multifaceted intellectual and political activist at his time of living. He was a very amazing person
at his time. He was humble, fighting for reforms through his writings instead of through a
revolution. He used his intelligence, talents and skills in a more peaceful way rather than the
aggressive way.
A hero is part of the people’s expression. But the process of a people’s internalization of a
hero’s life and works takes time, with the youth forming a part of the internalization, and he
have this qualification for being a national hero of all time.
