A. Leadership
1. Leadership is being able to influence others to their truest potential
2. Leadership the ability to influence others to finish a certain task
3. Leadership means to lead people to success or goals
4. Leadership means to guide people towards a certain goal
5. Leadership helps other to do the right thing

 Given definitions of leadership by my friend, I could say that the similarities of their definitions
is that leadership is all about the ability to influence or to guide people through a certain goal
or achievement.

B. Leadership and management come hand in hand when running a grocery store. First through
leadership, in a grocery store the owner must act as the leader, so you could set a good example to
your personnel through motivation and hard work. And as a management, you should employ rules
and regulations in the store so that all personnel could work efficiently and effectively.

C. & Activities of Management as a Nurse


1. Planning – as a nurse you need to determine the objectives and goals you have to deliver to the
patient. For example, endorsement is important when dealing with the patient, because all the
information about the patient is in there, including the history, doctor’s order, and medication.
2. Organizing – once the objective is established, the management need to create an organization
or a group of people that would carry out the task that is needed.
3. Staffing – in staffing, the action of a nursing management is to hire and train incoming nurses. in
a hospital setting, there are different areas where the nurses are being rotated. For example,
more nurses are needed in the emergency room than Outpatient Department. The management
must see where they can maximize manpower in the hospital.
4. Directing – is the giving of the policies of the hospital, the standard of work to deliver quality
care to the patients.
5. Coordinating – coordination is important in a hospital setting because of the department are
interdependent on each other. For example a patient is received in the emergency room for a
surgery, there must be a proper coordination or communication from the nurses in the
Operating room.
6. Reporting – the purpose of reporting, is to see whether the nurses is functioning efficiently in
their assigned are, reports are important for the evaluation of the nurses and also to see
potential and actual problems that are present in the hospital
7. Budgeting – it is an important part of planning as a nursing management, budget can determine
the quality care or standard a nurse or as a management can give to a client or a patient.
