Town council discusses removal of
character from highway signage

Sam may be missing from some signage in the near future.


Windsor will have a chance to change some signage with the
twinning of Highway 101, and council has considered removing
“Home of Sam Slick” from two signs Feb.10.
Windsor Mayor Paul Beazley said reasons for discussing this
change had nothing to do with the Sam Slick controversy last
summer, but everything to do with efficiently utilizing resources.
“It’s about what’s going to draw people off the highway,” Beaz-
ley said. “I just do not think it (the Sam Slick reference) has the
bang for its buck...and it’s time for a change on that sign.”

then “Home of Sam Slick” right under it, it confuses those from

The Hants RDA is recognized as the second smallest RDA in the


province, but, for being so small, the group has accomplished
many big projects — and plans for more.
In a first RDA scorecard report, this group ranked strongly by
meeting or exceeding eight out of 10 indicators of success and
had a 4.9/5 rating for average client satisfaction.
Hants RDA executive director Ryan MacNeil said that,
