SUMMARY

In the text denomined “Product distribution:the basics” we could understand that

distribution is an important element of operations as, without a role that tracks and
improves the relationship between manufacturers and customers, a company cannot
ensure the best possible service. If bottlenecks happen in distribution, deliveries fall
short, customers, retailers and suppliers get angry, and trust is lost. For product
distribution to be truly successful a continuous feedback loop needs to be
implemented to ensure everyone is happy with the process and that any
improvements that can be made, are made. As companies grow, it becomes vital to
improve your distribution to ensure that everyone in your distribution channel is
happy. Depending on the network of your distribution channel, there can be many
people and strategies involved in a company’s product distribution.

Now, in order to identify the best option for a transport, different variables must be
considered, such as prices, type of goods, risks, technologies, among others. This
is why we show the following transport alternatives.

Firstly, we find the land transport The main characteristics of the land transport are
the flexibility, that allows it to arrive practically at any destination, with vehicles
adapted to almost all the necessities; its speed and agility of answer; its simplicity of
use and the facility with which it combines with other means of transport, to be part
of the multimodal transport.

Maritime transport stands out, due to its reliability, economy and versatility. For the
transport of the different goods, there are a large number of ships of different
characteristics available, adapted to the needs of each case, such as oil tankers,
bulk carriers. Like any other means of transport, air transport has advantages and
disadvantages, which make it more or less suitable, depending on the nature of the
goods to be transported and the circumstances of each case. Air transport is
characterized by: speed for long distances, security, fewer incidents and robberies
occur with this means of transport, administrative agility, wide coverage, you can
reach everywhere, price/cost, limits on dimensions.

In conclusion, we can identify the variables of transport at present, taking into

account the characteristics of the goods and the needs of both the importer and the
exporter.
