1.1 Process Description

General Process:
1) The milk is received by a road tanker, the tanker is hooked up to the
reception unit by a flexible hose provided by the Customer. If additional
pipes are installed between the unit and the hose this should be as short
as possible and be of a size permitting the flow not to exceed 1,5-2 m /
sec, and total pipe and hose volume not exceeding that of deareation tank
T-01. The milk reception unit is to be placed lower then the outlet of the
road tanker preferably 0,5 m minimum. If gravity flow should exceed the
preferred capacity an optional valve should be installed at the inlet of the
reception unit to restrict the inlet flow (the valve to be an SRC with a
SMO-R valve stem) by means of shims on the actuator stem. The under
pressure to be adjusted to - 0,3 / - 0,4 bars.

2) The unit is set to MODE emptying and started by selection on the touch
screen panel.
The milk flows to the deareator until high level is reached (adjustable)
when the desired level is achieved the valve V 2 is closing and the pump
M01 is starting and pumping at set speed (adjustable), line filling to
object (silo tank) has to be monitored manually a pause button can hold
the unit if operator has to change some valves. If the gravity flow is
lower then the pump speed a vacuum will be created in the upper part of
the vessel and the inlet flow going tangential in to the tank will be forced
along the tank wall thus creating a higher internal liquid pressure. This
two factors higher liquid pressure at the tank wall and vacuum in the
empty space of the tank will permit the air to escape from the liquid at
fastest possible speed. The collected air will eventually lower the level in
the vessel, if low level (adjustable) is reached throughout the emptying
sequence, the pump M01 will stop and valve V 2 open and wait for the
gravity flow to fill the vessel and start the process again. When the road
tanker is empty the unit is stopped and the pump will run a preset time
(adjustable) to empty the vessel. The pumped milk is measured by flow
meter FT 01 and the temperature is measured by TT01 and displayed in
the touch screen of the control panel. The quantity taken trough out the
emptying sequence is totalised on the display and can be recorded by a
printer (option).

3) If "Mode" pipe emptying is selected a set quantity liquid (adjustable) is
measured to empty the pipe to object silo tank. The flush liquid "water"
should be entered in the hose normally connected to the tanker and
preferably being sucked in to the system by pump M01. If water under
pressure is pushing the milk the flow will continue despite the pump
having stopped.

4) When CIP is required the unit is set in "MODE" Cleaning, this starts the
pump M01 at requested speed for CIP (adjustable) and sets valves V 2
and V 3 in CIP flip mode "timers" (adjustable) the external cleaning
system will now clean the unit. It is of outmost importance that the outlet
line is at no time during the CIP sequence blocked and thus creating an
overpressure in the vessel, the vessel is a certified pressure vessel
designed for -1/ 3 bar. After CIP the unit has to be stopped manually, if
forgotten a timer measuring no flow will automatically stop the unit after
30 min.
