GENERAL ENGLISH 7

Description of the course:

By the end of this final level, students will be able to:

 Understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract
topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
 Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular
interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
 Produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a
viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of
various options.

The course will be developed through the online platform English Discoveries, level

Methodology of the course:

The platform ENGLISH DISCOVERIES offers different levels of English which


allow students acquire the skills that will be necessary for their professional and
personal development.

Students will receive all the instructions to access and work on the platform. They
will have to work independent and autonomously in the platform by doing all the
exercises that each lesson has, revising the explanations, and exploring additional
activities suggested by the platform or on Internet. In addition, they will have the
guidance of the tutor who will answer the messages sent on Canvas and will be
available in the synchronic sessions on Teams.

Evaluation:

Along the module, students will be assessed through two exams, two reports of
their work on the platform, and two oral activities. The instructions of these
activities will be sent one week before it is due.

The exams can be taken only one time. The second attempt will only be
considered if there were technical problems.

Structure of the course:

The course is divided into 16 weeks and includes the work on the platform, two
production tasks and two exams, as it is shown below.
