Answer one of the following:

- How has shareholder value pressure changed firm behaviour and what are
the impacts on other stakeholders?

- What is the role of business in tackling global and complex problems?

- Were the policy responses triggered by the global financial crisis effective?

No other topics are allowed!

• This essay should contain appropriate and meaningful references to at
least one of the key readings for each of the lectures in weeks 8-11.
In other words, 1+1+1+1 references are required to avoid penalties of
2% per absent reference.

Structuring the essay

• Introduction:
- Context/Background/relevance
- Explain why the topic which your chosen question concerns is
important.
- Provide definitions of key terms.
- State your argument
- Signpost the structure of your essay
• Main Body of Essay (Develop your argument)
- Critical analysis of literature
- Make use of concepts relevant to the topic
Conclusion:
- Repeat/summarise the argument
- Return to context/background/relevance
• List of References/Bibliography
• Referencing (Harvard)
