Ms.

Kala
Ms. Kala is an Art Historian and an Architectural
Expert. Her association with the Dept of Tourism in
India, spanning over three decades was a great
learning opportunity and moulded her thoroughly
into an avid explorer of our culture and heritage. An
Economics Graduate, her love and passion for Art and
Architecture, drove her to pursue a full time Art
course at Kalakshetra under the close tutelage of
senior artists Sri. G. Srinivasalu and Sri. Ramachandra
Iyer for many years. She also underwent advance
training in Fresco and Secco painting techniques at
Banasthali University in Rajasthan.

Subsequently, her quest in art, architecture and

culture led her into the field of Tourism and made her
undergo rigorous training with the Ministry of
Tourism. She, at present, guides many International
Enthusiasts too into the beauty and grandeur of our
art, architecture, history and culture. Her proficiency
in German and Italian has been instrumental in
helping her reach out to foreigners effectively.

Above is a mural by Ms. Kala,

depicting the story of Padmapaadhar
doing thapas in order to get
Narasimha Darisanam. She works
with a vast number of painting
mediums, grounds and techniques
including acrylic, murals, Tanjore
paintings etc. She deals with Temple
History and Architecture on a macro
level and accompanies tourists all over
South India. Hampi, Mamallapuram,
Tanjore, Kanchipuram, Pullamangai
and Darasuram. are few of her favorite places. She also addresses "museum groups"
on bronze sculptures and techniques. She is a valuable Resource Person who will
enrich us with her expertise in Temple Architecture. She has been an integral part of
