Design
The function is of course the most
important issue for any heating
equipment for industrial applications.
However, the design features grow
more important as the low noise
level makes it possible to use the
product in more aestetically con-
scious applications. With soft shapes
and discrete use of colours, these
heaters will fit into most surround-
ings.

Maintenance
The FHW heaters are easy to main-
tain as the top and the bottom sec-
tions can be opened. A normal
accessory is a filter placed between
the water coil and the fan. The filter
can easily be removed for cleaning.

Peace of mind in Sweden...

This large and insulated food warehouse is busy with trucks going in and out.
The food is perishable and the temperature must not drop or rise to much. Eight
FHW12 fan heaters secure fast supply of heat whenever necessary.

The pressure drop is calculated for an average temperature of 70°C (PVV 80/60).
For other water temperatures, the pressure drop is multiplied with the factor K.

*1) Including filter section, mixing cabinet and outer wall grille. Please note that with only mixing cabinet and outer wall grille in use, the air
flow is only marginally reduced.
*2) The air distrubution data above is valid when the horizontally adjustable air director is used and the inlet temperature is +40°C
and the room temperature is +18°C. The air distribution is defined as the distance in a straight angle from the fan heater to the
the point where the air speed has dropped to 0.2 m/s.

Lw = Sound power level, Lp = Sound pressure level.

LpA is calculated under the following conditions: Distance to fan 5 m. Direction factor: 2. Equivalent absorption area: 200 m2.
All tests are performed in accordance with BS148, AMCA standard 210-85 and DIN 24163.

Positioning, mounting and installing
Generally about mounting FHW
Fan heaters FHW can be mounted at a wall for horizontal
air distribution, or on the ceiling for vertical air distribu-
tion.
FHW can be mounted with the pipes either to the left or
to the right hand side. They must however, not be con-
nected pointing upwards or downwards.
Accessories and FHW are put together with screws or
guides and then fitted to a wall or the ceiling with a suit-
able fastening device.

Connection from the left

Connection the heating coil

The pipes can be connected on either side of FHW.
Heating coil with aluminium fins (fin distance 2 mm) and
copper pipes. Smooth pipe connections, for soldering or
clamp ring pipe connection.
The air valve should be connected on a high point in the
pipe system. Air and draining valves are not included in the
heating coil. For correct inlet and outlet dimensions of the
heating coil, see page 8.
FHW units that are likely to be exposed to air tempera-
tures below zero, for example when a mixing cabinet is
used, should be equipped with external automatic frost
protection to ensure that the heating coil is not damaged
by frost. Contact your local installer for a frost protection
installation.

Connection from the right

Electrical installation
The appliance should be preceded by a triple pole switch
with at least 3 mm breaking gap.
The following applies to FHW 12 and 22 only: The fan
motor is connected via a cable gland in the casing, to a ter-
minal box inside the unit. Bottom and top lids are supplied
with hinges and are easily opened after loosening a set of
screws.
On the side of the unit there are knock-outs, 2 pcs ø 20
mm. See wiring diagrams on pages 18-19.
The following applies to FHW 32 and 33 only: The fan
motor is connected directly to the terminal box which is
located on the motor and easily accessible from the outside
of the unit. When a mixing cabinet or a filter section is
used, holes must be made in the casing for connection
cables.
